Sefton Park Hotel is launching Paws in the Park, a new monthly meet-up bringing together Liverpool’s dog owners, walkers and minders for a relaxed morning in one of the city’s most beautiful green spaces.
The first Paws in the Park will take place on Saturday 19 September at 10am, with dog lovers from across the city invited to come along and join the new community.

The idea is deliberately simple – grab the lead, bring your four-legged friend and let them lead the way.
Dog lovers are invited to meet at Sefton Park Hotel, where they can pick up a Paws in the Park map and complimentary bottle of water, while their canine companions will receive a treat for the journey.
From there, everyone can head out into Sefton Park to enjoy a walk at their own pace, meet other local dog lovers and hopefully make a few new friends – both two-legged and four-legged.
There is no guided walk, no set group and no pressure to keep up. Paws in the Park is designed as a relaxed way for like-minded locals to get together, enjoy the outdoors and become part of a growing community united by a love of dogs and Sefton Park.
Those wanting to make more of the morning can book breakfast at Sefton Park Hotel beforehand, or return afterwards for lunch, giving walkers the chance to continue catching up while their four-legged companions enjoy a well-earned rest.
Whether visitors come alone with their dog, bring a friend’s dog, walk dogs professionally or regularly look after someone else’s beloved pooch, everyone is welcome – whatever the breed, size or walking pace.
Taking place throughout the year, Paws in the Park will also give regulars the opportunity to experience Sefton Park through the changing seasons, from autumn leaves and crisp winter mornings to spring blossom and summer sunshine.
Megan Hanson, General Manager at Sefton Park Hotel, said:
“We see so many dog owners and walkers passing the hotel every day and wanted to create something really simple that brings that community together.
“Paws in the Park isn’t an organised walking club. There’s no leader, no particular pace and no pressure. Come along, grab your map and water, pick up a treat for your dog and enjoy the park with other people who love it as much as you do.
“You might arrive knowing nobody and end up walking with a whole new group of people, while your dog hopefully finds a few new walking buddies too. And if you want to make a morning of it, join us for breakfast beforehand or come back for lunch afterwards.”
Sefton Park Hotel hopes the meet-up will become a regular fixture in Liverpool’s dog-loving calendar, offering a monthly opportunity to get outdoors, meet new people and enjoy one of the city’s best-loved parks together.
The first Paws in the Park takes place at Sefton Park Hotel on Saturday 19 September at 10am, with the event returning monthly thereafter.
