Halloween is creeping closer, and there are plenty of spooky events taking place across Liverpool and the wider Liverpool City Region in 2026.
From family-friendly trails, ghost trains and Halloween shows to terrifying scare attractions, murder mysteries and late-night parties, there is something happening for little monsters and grown-up thrill-seekers alike.
We’ve rounded up some of the Halloween events already confirmed across Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley and Halton, along with a few major attractions worth making the short trip outside the city region for.
We’ll be updating this guide as more Halloween events are announced, so check back for new additions.
Spooky Welly Walk
Sefton Park, Liverpool – Saturday 24 October 2026
One of Liverpool’s popular family Halloween events returns to Sefton Park this October.
Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s Spooky Welly Walk takes families on a Halloween-themed route through the park, with activities and entertainment along the way including creepy crafts, slime making, storytelling, mask making and fairground fun.
It’s designed to offer Halloween excitement without the really frightening scares and is particularly suited to children aged around three to eight.
Gates open at 10.45am and the event finishes at 4.30pm. Tickets cost £8 each or £30 for a family of four, with under-twos free. Tickets must be booked in advance.
Halloween Family Day at Aintree Racecourse
Aintree Racecourse – Sunday 25 October 2026
Aintree will combine a day of jump racing with Halloween family entertainment for its Halloween Family Day.
Away from the track, families can expect Halloween crafts, face painting, circus skills, a bouncy castle and a competition for the spookiest outfit.
There will also be a Huntrix tribute act for fans of KPop Demon Hunters, followed by a meet-and-greet.
Gates open at 10.40am, with pony racing from 11.45am and the first main race scheduled for 12.40pm. Under-18s can attend the Grandstand & Paddock free when accompanied by an adult.
Halloween Costume Swap-Shops and Crafts
Knowsley Libraries – 26 to 28 October 2026
Families in Knowsley can also give old Halloween costumes another outing with a series of free costume swap events during half term.
Knowsley Council is collecting unwanted children’s costumes at libraries before holding swap-shops and Halloween craft sessions at Halewood Library and Stockbridge Library on Monday 26 October, Prescot Library on Tuesday 27 October and Huyton Library on Wednesday 28 October.
Children will also be able to decorate their own trick-or-treat bags.
SMEC Ghost Train
Southport Model Engineering Club – Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026
Southport’s miniature railway is getting a Halloween makeover for two evenings this October.
The SMEC Ghost Train will take passengers through haunted tunnels and ghostly stations, with Halloween characters and decorated sections appearing around the railway.
It’s deliberately designed as a family-friendly experience without jump scares, with earlier neuro-inclusive sessions available for younger visitors.
The event takes place at Southport Model Engineering Club next to Victoria Park, with early bird tickets starting from £5.
Grumpy Pumpkins Halloween Trail
Norton Priory, Runcorn – selected dates from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026
For a gentler Halloween activity, families can search the grounds and woodland at Norton Priory for ten particularly grumpy pumpkins.
Trail sheets cost £1 per child in addition to standard adult admission, making this an easy one to include for families looking for something around Halton during October half term.
Halloween in Concert
The Auditorium, Liverpool – Saturday 31 October 2026
Halloween night will bring a live band, singers and a soundtrack packed with spooky favourites to The Auditorium at the Liverpool waterfront.
Halloween in Concert is a new family show featuring songs including Monster Mash, The Time Warp, Thriller, Bat Out of Hell and Running Up That Hill, accompanied by stage visuals and lighting.
Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be a prize for the standout costume.
Doors open at 6.30pm ahead of a 7.30pm start. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult.
Spooky Speke
Speke Hall, Liverpool – 1, 9, 14, 16 and 29 October 2026
The Lady in Black is returning to Speke Hall as the historic Tudor house opens its doors after dark.
Visitors begin with a hot drink and sweet treat at Home Farm before taking a torchlit tour through the Hall, discovering stories linked to its past as they explore the building in darkness.
There are two sessions on each date, beginning at 5.45pm and 7.15pm. Tickets cost £19.50 and the experience is strictly for over-18s.
Jekyll and Hyde at Speke Hall
Speke Hall – Saturday 17 October 2026
Speke Hall also welcomes Don’t Go Into the Cellar for a theatrical adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde.
Guests can enjoy tea or coffee and a sweet treat at Home Farm before heading into the Great Hall for the performance.
There are performances at 5.45pm and 7.15pm, with tickets priced at £19.50 for adults and £16.50 for ages 15–17.
Farmaggedon
Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm, Downholland – from Saturday 26 September and throughout October 2026
Farmaggedon returns just outside Liverpool City Region for another season of live horror.
The 2026 attraction features five scare mazes — The Facility, Meat Locker, Beast of Terror, Hellucination and Maze of Death — alongside roaming entertainment, live music, DJs, food and drink.
Tickets start from £25 and the attraction is strictly for visitors aged 16 and over. Entry slots are available from 6.45pm on event nights, with the site remaining open until midnight.
Farmaggedon takes place at Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm near Ormskirk.
Scare City Experience
Camelot Theme Park, Chorley – Saturday 26 September to Saturday 7 November 2026
The abandoned Camelot Theme Park will once again become the setting for Scare City.
Visitors follow one continuous horror trail through indoor and outdoor environments, with live actors, sets, dark passageways and scare zones spread throughout the former theme park.
Standard tickets are currently £32.50 plus booking fee. The attraction is designed principally for ages 16+, although visitors aged 14 and 15 can attend when accompanied by an adult. Nobody under 14 is permitted.
Spooky City
Camelot Theme Park, Chorley – Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2026
There’s also a new daytime alternative at Camelot for families this year.
Created by the team behind Scare City, Spooky City has been designed for children aged six to 15 and combines lighter Halloween scares with mini mazes, themed zones, crafts, a children’s disco, performances and optional pumpkin picking.
Child tickets are £22.50 plus booking fee, while adult tickets are £15.
Halloween nights out and grown-up events
Monster Mash Halloween Cruise
Mersey Ferries – Friday 30 October 2026
Fancy spending Halloween weekend out on the Mersey?
Mersey Ferries’ Monster Mash Halloween Cruise returns with a live DJ playing music from the 1960s through to today and fancy dress strongly encouraged.
The 18+ cruise lasts two-and-a-half hours and departs Seacombe at 7.30pm before picking up passengers at Liverpool Gerry Marsden Ferry Terminal at 7.45pm.
Tickets cost £25 per person.
Murder Mystery Halloween Special
Everyman Theatre – Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October 2026
Put your detective skills to work during a Halloween murder mystery at the Everyman.
The interactive Ghostly Goings On story follows a paranormal investigation team exploring reports of unusual activity at a Liverpool theatre — although things quickly become considerably more serious.
Evening performances take place at 7.30pm, with the £42 ticket including pie and mash. The event is suitable for ages 12+.
There is also an afternoon tea version at midday on both dates, although the Saturday afternoon performance is currently sold out.
Ghost Stories by Candlelight
The Grand, Southport – Saturday 31 October 2026
The Grand in Southport is turning down the lights for an evening of live ghost stories, theatre and dinner on Halloween night.
Ghost Stories by Candlelight begins at 7pm and combines atmospheric storytelling and sound with a three-course meal.
Tickets are £40 per person.
Hocus Pocus Family Halloween Spooktacular
The Grand, Southport – Sunday 1 November 2026
The following day switches things back to family fun with live performances from the Sanderson Sisters, Halloween games and fancy dress.
There are sessions from 11am–2pm and 3pm–6pm, with tickets priced at £10 per person.
Cue Murder! Halloween Special
Floral Pavilion, New Brighton – Saturday 31 October 2026
Over on the Wirral, DBY Interactive brings a new murder mystery to the Floral Pavilion’s Blue Lounge on Halloween night.
The story takes audiences back to Halloween 1925 and an abandoned theatre said to be haunted, where guests will be tasked with helping to unravel the mystery.
More Halloween events are coming
