The Liverpool FC men’s squad paid a special festive visit to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital on Monday, continuing the Club’s annual Christmas tradition of spreading cheer across the city.
Players and staff spent time with young patients and their families at the West Derby hospital, sharing smiles, posing for photographs and handing out Liverpool FC gifts in a bid to bring some festive joy to those spending time in hospital over the Christmas period.

Head coach Arne Slot joined the squad as they moved around the wards, also taking time to meet Alder Hey staff and thank them for the incredible work they do caring for children and families throughout the year.
The visit forms part of Liverpool FC’s long-standing commitment to supporting the local community, with the Club making regular visits to hospitals and community organisations across the city region.
For patients, families and staff alike, the visit provided a welcome lift during what can be a challenging time of year, helping to ensure Christmas cheer was well and truly felt throughout the hospital.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, said:
“This place is full of heroes, in my opinion, helping so many kids through very tough times. Not only the kids, also the parents.
“It’s great for us to be here. It’s tough to hear certain stories, but we know what it could bring if we are here and visiting the kids. I’m really happy to be here.”
Curtis Jones said:
“I love coming here with the lads and putting a smile on the kids’ faces and the staff and the families.
“At the end of it, I hope the kids come away feeling more like themselves and the families get a real boost. And it’s nice to see the staff with how hard they work, giving them a bit of help as well.”
