Liverpool has finally welcomed a venue dedicated entirely to the theatrical, hands-on experience of a Southern American seafood feast.
Crabbish, will officially open on Duke Street on Tuesday 21 April, claiming the title of the city’s first dedicated Louisiana-style seafood boil restaurant.
While other local venues have occasionally hosted seafood soirées, Crabbish is the first permanent establishment to make the communal, bag-to-table boil its entire identity.
Originating in Manchester, the brand has chosen Liverpool for its second UK site, bringing a style of dining that is as much about getting stuck into the mess as it is about the flavour.
The concept is simple, seafood is steamed in a bag with corn, potatoes, and intense Cajun seasonings, then poured directly onto a paper-covered table.
Diners are equipped with bibs and encouraged to use their hands to crack, peel, and dunk to get the best tasting experience possible.
From Mix Bags to the Legendary £495 Golden Bucket

The menu at the new Duke Street location is designed to cater to varying levels of hunger, ranging from individual portions to some of the largest sharing platters in the North West.
For those looking for a manageable introduction to the concept, the Mix Bag Specials are a staple.
A highlight is the Jack Jones bag, priced at £30, which provides a hearty serving of 10 heads on shrimp, six blue mussels, one rice or fries, five baby potatoes and a drink.
However, the restaurant is already gaining social media fame for its more extravagant offerings.
The Golden Bucket is a gargantuan feast designed for groups of eight to nine people.
For £495, the table is covered in an incredible volume of food, including 70 wild head-on shrimp, 70 Blue mussels, 60 Clams, and much more for you to get eating.
For smaller groups, the 3 Way Split’n offers a middle ground at £135, featuring lobster tails, prawns, sausages, potatoes, eggs, corn and mussels.
The interior of the Duke Street site reflects this casual, high-energy approach, featuring vibrant murals and a layout that encourages social dining.
With its loud, social and unapologetically messy approach, Crabbish is far from a traditional restaurant setting.
Instead, it’s designed for groups, celebrations and anyone looking for something a bit different from Liverpool’s usual dining options.
For those who cannot help but have the seafood boil videos catch their eyes, this restaurant is certain to be a bit of you.
