American fast-food chain Chick-fil-A is set to open its first restaurant in Liverpool next week, bringing its famous chicken sandwiches to the city centre.
The new Chick-fil-A Liverpool will open at 85 Lord Street on Thursday, 27 August, becoming the brand’s third locally owned and operated restaurant in the UK following openings in Leeds and Kingston.

Liverpool resident David Pritchard will lead the new restaurant as its Owner-Operator, overseeing the day-to-day running of the business, recruitment and partnerships with local organisations and charities.
Born and raised in Liverpool, David will be responsible for building the restaurant’s team and developing its links with communities across the city.
The new Liverpool restaurant is also expected to create more than 100 jobs.
David said he hopes the restaurant will become part of Liverpool’s already thriving food and hospitality scene.
He said:
“I’ve always admired the energy and heart of Liverpool. It’s a city that truly values coming together over a great meal.
“My hope is that Chick-fil-A can simply add to the wonderful food scene that already exists here and become a small part of the community’s daily life.”
Customers visiting the Lord Street restaurant will be able to try some of the American chain’s best-known dishes, including the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, made using a whole boneless chicken breast which is hand-breaded throughout the day.
The Liverpool menu will also include Chick-fil-A Nuggets, Waffle Potato Fries, grilled chicken options and freshly prepared salads.
Drinks will include the chain’s signature hand-squeezed Lemonade as well as milkshakes.
The restaurant will open from 10am until 10pm, Monday to Saturday, for both dine-in and takeaway customers.
Like Chick-fil-A restaurants around the world, the Liverpool branch will be closed every Sunday.
The Sunday closure is a tradition dating back to company founder Truett Cathy, who decided employees should have one day each week away from work to spend as they choose.
Community work will also form part of the new restaurant’s plans.
David will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table programme, which sees surplus food from participating restaurants donated to local charitable organisations to help people experiencing food insecurity.

He plans to develop partnerships with Liverpool charities and community groups, with the aim of ensuring surplus food from the Lord Street restaurant can support people in need.
Chick-fil-A was founded in the United States in 1967 and has grown to more than 3,000 restaurants internationally.
The company began its latest UK expansion in 2025 and has committed to opening five locally owned and operated restaurants during its first two years, alongside an investment of more than $100 million in the UK over the next decade.
The Liverpool opening follows the launch of its Leeds restaurant in October 2025 and Kingston restaurant in March this year.
