One of Southport’s most established fish and chip restaurants has launched a new menu after responding to demand from customers.
Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant, which has welcomed generations of families over the past four decades, has unveiled a new Balcony Bar Snack Menu featuring a selection of freshly cooked dishes at great-value prices.

The new menu follows the successful opening of the Balcony Bar at the restaurant two years ago.
Visitors can enjoy a range of alcoholic and soft drinks inside the restaurant or outside on the balcony, which offers views across Kings Gardens and the Marine Lake.
Situated at the entrance to Southport Pier, the popular family restaurant has now expanded its food offering with a selection of smaller dishes and snacks.
New additions include Halloumi Fries, Calamari, Onion Rings, Spicy Chicken Bites and a Salad Bowl.
Each dish costs £6, with customers also able to choose any three dishes for £15.
Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant has been a familiar part of Southport’s seafront for decades.
The venue was originally built in 1971 at the same time as the neighbouring Silcock’s Funland, formerly known as The Golden Goose.
Originally called the Golden Fry, the restaurant was renamed Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant in 1990 and has continued to serve residents and visitors to the seaside resort ever since.
Silcock Leisure Group Head of Operations Serena Silcock-Prince said:
“We’re excited to launch our new Balcony Bar Snack Menu, after responding to demands from customers. The feedback from the first weekend has been fantastic.
“It means people will be able to sit in the sunshine at the Balcony Bar, enjoying the views over Kings Gardens and the Marine Lake, with a nice cold drink – while also being able to enjoy something delicious to eat.
“Lots of people have been asking us for small plates with a real summer vibe they can order while enjoying a drink or two. The new dishes are perfect to share.
“They will be available all day and into the early evening.
“We’ve launched our new menu at an exciting time for Southport with tens of thousands of people coming into town to enjoy this year’s Southport Flower Show (20th-23rd August 2026) and Southport Air Show (29th-30th August 2026).
“We love these events and can’t wait to welcome families. There’s plenty to do during the rest of the school summer holidays.
“Since we opened our Balcony Bar two years ago it’s been an amazing success. Gaining our alcohol licence means customers now have a wider choice of drinks to choose from, whether it’s alongside a meal, or while sitting on our balcony with friends.
“Last week we took part in the first ever Southport Cocktail Week, with our Silcock’s Candy Cloud cocktail being such a huge hit it’s now been permanently added to our menu.
“Our full menu at Silcock’s Pier Family Restaurant, including our famous fish and chips, remains available.
“We also have some fantastic deals including our Seaside Special (fish and chips, peas, bread and butter, plus beer or wine or tea or coffee) for £16.99 or our popular Fizz and Chips (fish and chips and Prosecco) for £15.99.
“There is so much to see here. As well as Silcock’s Family Pier Restaurant and the Balcony Bar, we also have our famous Silcock’s Carousel and Silcock’s Funland, plus we’re near other great attractions such as Master Crazy Golf, the boats on the Marine Lake, Southport Model Rail Village and more.”
