The incredible festival afterparties that take place across the Africa Oyé weekend have become just as much a staple part of the experience in recent years as the main event itself.
While the daytime music wraps up at Sefton Park on 20th and 21st June 2026, the celebration of sound, culture, and community continues deep into the night.
These four official afterparties are organised by independent promoters who directly support Africa Oyé and contribute to the charity behind the festival.
If you want to keep the energy going after the sun sets, here is exactly what is on offer across Liverpool this weekend.
The Saturday Line-Up: 20th June

The festival might finish at Sefton Park, but the African Caribbean Centre in Toxteth will be keeping the vibes alive late into the night.
Their official afterparty brings together some of the best DJs, selectors, and music lovers from across Liverpool and beyond.
Headlined by DJ Edu, with brilliant support from Soulfultiz, D Fresh, Jayspay, DJ NS, and the Decks in the City DJs, you can expect an unforgettable night of Afrobeat, Amapiano, House, Hip Hop, Dancehall, R&B, and feel-good party vibes from start to finish.
The event takes place at 1 Amberley Street from 9 pm until 3 am. Limited first-release tickets are just £5, and prices increase to £10 once those sell out.
Africa Oyé is also delighted to be working with Quarry for the first time in 2026, kicking things off with an event titled Quarry presents: Andy Votel & Friends – AGITATION FREE Zero Fret Record Roulette.
This is set to be a spectacular night of vintage vinyl exploration as Andy Votel and friends take to the decks, spinning an ever-changing selection of outer national platters on rotation.
Expect obscure gems, global sounds, forgotten classics, and unexpected discoveries from some of the finest record selectors around.
The session runs from 9 pm until 2 am, and entry is completely free.
Over at the Handyman, Disco Africa returns for another year to bring high-energy, highlife, and Afro-Disco boogie to the Smithdown Road venue.
Dharma Collective, Laura Weaver, Mono Mondo, and the rest of the crew will be holding it down on the decks from 8 pm until 1 am.
This popular event is free to attend, but it always hits full capacity, so early arrival is highly recommended if you want to guarantee your spot on the dancefloor.
The Sunday Line-Up: 21st June

The team at Quarry are backing it up for a second night on Sunday with Peace & Love in the Garden. They will be playing roots and reggae to feed your soul, dubwise selections to make you shake, and heavyweight steppers to keep you moving deep into the night.
Running from 10 pm until 3 am, it promises to be a beautiful celebration of sound system culture, unity, and good energy to close out the spectacular weekend.
Entry for the Sunday session is also completely free with no ticket required.
The main Africa Oyé Festival takes place across Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June in Liverpool’s gorgeous Sefton Park from 12 pm until 9:30 pm both days.
Tickets for the main festival days are available right now via TicketQuarter.
