Three screenings at Everton’s Movies on the Mersey drive-in cinema have officially sold out ahead of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Tickets for Finding Nemo, Grease and Back to the Future have all been snapped up, while limited availability remains for Mamma Mia! and the special Bank Holiday Monday screening of Everton documentary Howard’s Way.
The pop-up cinema will take place at Hill Dickinson Stadium, transforming part of the waterfront site into a drive-in experience with a giant screen overlooking the River Mersey.
The weekend begins on Saturday, August 29, with Disney-Pixar favourite Finding Nemo at 6pm, which is now completely sold out.
Tickets are still available for Mamma Mia! at 9pm on Saturday evening. And you can book them here.
Both of Sunday’s screenings have now sold out, with Grease showing at 6pm before Back to the Future at 9pm.
The weekend will conclude on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31, with a special screening of Howard’s Way at 7.30pm.
The acclaimed documentary tells the story of Everton under Howard Kendall and the club’s rise to become one of Europe’s leading sides during the 1980s.
The film will be shown against the backdrop of Everton’s new waterfront home, with entry available on a pay-what-you-want basis.
All donations from the screening will go directly to Everton in the Community to support the charity’s work across Merseyside.

The latest sell-outs come after Everton confirmed that Docktoberfest, a nine-hour Bavarian-inspired festival taking place at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, October 3, has also sold out.

“The response to Movies on the Mersey has been brilliant and it is fantastic to see three of the screenings already sell out ahead of the weekend.

We have families coming for Finding Nemo, groups of friends for Mamma Mia! and Grease, film fans for Back To The Future and, of course, Evertonians coming together for Howard’s Way. That mix is exactly what we hoped the weekend would create.
“Using the waterfront setting in a completely different way and seeing people choose to spend part of their Bank Holiday weekend with us is hugely encouraging.
“The Howard’s Way screening also gives the weekend a really fitting Everton finish. It is a film that means a great deal to so many supporters and, with entry on a pay-what-you-want basis in support of Everton in the Community, it is an opportunity to celebrate an important part of our history while helping the charity continue its incredible work across our communities.

Another major event is set to follow on Saturday, September 26, when the stadium hosts the inaugural #Game4Hope charity football match.

The fixture will see a Merseyside XI take on a Rest of the World XI to raise money and awareness for Everton in the Community and Shelter.
Everton great Peter Reid and Liverpool legend John Barnes will manage the Merseyside team, with former Blues including Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Yakubu, Gareth Barry and Louis Saha among those due to take part.
The Rest of the World squad is set to feature World Cup-winning Brazil captain Cafu, Clarence Seedorf and Jaap Stam, while Tinie Tempah will perform at half-time.
Everton has said further events at Hill Dickinson Stadium, including details of concerts taking place next summer, will be announced during the season.
