LFC Foundation’s annual Kip on the Kop has raised a record-breaking £120,000 so far, with hundreds of supporters spending the night at Anfield to help people experiencing homelessness across the Liverpool City Region.
The fourth edition of the fundraising event took place on Saturday 26 September, with participants swapping their beds for a night sleeping beneath the stars in Liverpool FC’s famous Kop stand.
This year’s event has already become the most successful Kip on the Kop to date, and the total could rise further with fundraising remaining open until the end of October.
Money raised will support the LFC Foundation’s Pathway to Work programme, which provides sport-based employability sessions and mentoring for young people who have experienced homelessness.
The programme is designed to help participants develop confidence, life and workplace skills and take steps towards education, training and employment.
A proportion of the money will also go towards the work of Liverpool Homeless FC, which uses football to engage with and support people affected by homelessness and social exclusion.
Liverpool FC legends join supporters on the Kop
A number of former Liverpool FC players and ambassadors joined supporters for this year’s sleepout.
Former Reds goalkeeper and LFC Foundation community ambassador Chris Kirkland took part for the fourth consecutive year, while Sammy Lee returned for his second Kip on the Kop.
David James, Natasha Dowie, Becky Easton and Niamh Fahey all participated for the first time, spending the night alongside supporters and LFC Foundation staff.
The evening also included a special performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone by Kieo, bringing those taking part together inside Anfield before settling down for the night.

“The funds raised will have a real and lasting impact through our Pathway to Work programme and the important work of Liverpool Homeless FC, helping people who need support the most.”
Fundraising for Kip on the Kop 2026 will remain open until the end of October, giving supporters who were unable to attend the event an opportunity to contribute towards the final total here.
