Liverpool favourite The Bus Yard has officially opened its doors permanently inside Taskers, unveiling its new concept, 1958 Bistro.
After building a loyal following for its fresh, flavour-packed dishes, The Bus Yard has now created a dedicated dining space within the iconic Liverpool home and lifestyle store, offering shoppers the chance to sit down, relax and enjoy a brand new menu in stylish surroundings.

The launch of 1958 Bistro marks an exciting new chapter for the much-loved food brand. Known for serving up comforting classics alongside vibrant, freshly prepared dishes, The Bus Yard is now bringing its signature quality and creativity to a welcoming sit-in experience designed to complement a day spent browsing interiors and homeware.
Taskers has been a Liverpool institution since the 1950s, helping generations of families furnish and style their homes. With the arrival of 1958 Bistro, visitors can now make even more of their trip, pairing inspiration shopping with freshly cooked food in a relaxed, family-friendly setting at the heart of the store.

The new 1958 Bistro menu blends hearty comfort food with lighter daytime options, catering for everything from a quick lunch break to a leisurely catch-up over coffee.
Guests can warm up with homemade soup or indulge in French toast topped with sweet berry compote. Savoury options include soft brioche buns filled with bacon loin and sausage, freshly made sandwiches, golden sausage rolls and flavour-packed quiches, ideal for an easy mid-shop bite.
For those with a bigger appetite, the bistro serves vibrant poke bowls alongside a range of substantial hot dishes designed to feel like home on a plate. Diners can enjoy traditional hot pot with braised red cabbage, rich shepherd’s pie or a chef’s choice pasta dish that changes regularly.
Classic steak and ale pie topped with golden puff pastry features alongside a fragrant chicken butter curry served with fluffy basmati rice, offering both British favourites and globally inspired comfort food. Vegan guests are also catered for with flavour-packed falafel stuffed pittas.
Designed to be warm, welcoming and accessible for all, 1958 Bistro provides a comfortable space where shoppers can pause, refuel and enjoy freshly prepared food as part of the Taskers experience.

Andy Laird, Owner of The Bus Yard, said:
“We popped up at Taskers over the Christmas period and were overwhelmed by the love and support we received from Liverpool and beyond, with so many people visiting to shop for their home interiors. Opening permanently inside Taskers is a huge step for us. It’s been an institution in the city for so long and is the perfect local brand for us to partner with. We’re really excited to be part of the Taskers experience, giving visitors somewhere cosy to sit, eat and take a break while they explore the store.”
Oliver Tasker of Taskers added:
“During the festive period, The Bus Yard was so well received by our guests, further enhancing their visit to Taskers. We’re really excited that they’ll be here permanently now, with 1958 Bistro serving incredible freshly made hot and cold dishes, as well as cakes and pastries that are baked daily. A popular Liverpool-born brand, The Bus Yard was an obvious partnership and is a brand that truly aligns with Taskers.”
