Local family-run business Murphy’s Gin has created a special edition gin ahead of the arrival of Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.

As the city prepares to be bursting at the seams with all things Eurovision, the brand is delighted to announce the news of their ‘Dry Gin – 2023 Eurovision Ukraine Ltd Edition’ to celebrate.

The gin will be based on Murphy’s award-winning London Dry Gin, which is packed with juniper, citrus, and peppery notes and is set to be a sure-fire hit with gin lovers and Eurovision fanatics.

Mark Murphy, Co-Founder of Murphy’s Gin, said:

“The theme of this new gin is ‘Love and Peace’ and this is captured in our label, hence the wording ‘All you need is Love’ and ‘Give Peace a Chance’ appearing on the label.

“We have included two floral botanicals in the recipe to add very subtle floral notes to compliment the lemon namely, rose petals and lavender which, symbolise ‘love’ and ‘peace’, respectively. We would recommend serving the gin with plain tonic or lemonade garnished with a slice of pink grapefruit or use in your favourite gin-based cocktails.”

Showing their support to Ukraine, Murphy’s Gin will be donating a percentage of sales from the limited-edition gin to a local Ukrainian charity.

Speaking further about the concept, Mark continued:

“The gin was developed to commemorate Eurovision 2023 being held in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine and to celebrate the strong relationships that are developing between the people of Ukraine and Liverpool.

“The Eurovision being hosted in Liverpool is providing amazing opportunities for local business to showcase their products and services on a global stage and ultimately lots of local businesses will benefit from the occasion!

“We thought that it was important to give something back, hence why we will be making a charitable donation to a charity that is helping to supporting Ukraine and its people.”

There will be only 300 bottles of the limited-edition dry gin created, with each 70cl bottle featuring a hand-written batch number/bottle number, date, and distillers initials.

Bottles are now available to pre-order online at www.murphys-gin.com or by emailing info@murphys-gin.com and will be available for sale from 1st May.

The gin will also be available to purchase at Murphy’s Distillery Bar located on Regent Road from the 1st of May, and at John Lewis, Liverpool between the 8th and 14th May.

Hospitality venues who are interested in stocking the limited-edition bottles at their venues ahead of Eurovision can pre-order via email info@murphys-gin.com
