LFC Foundation has revealed it supported almost 240,000 people across the 2025/26 season, recording a 65% increase in the number of people helped both locally and internationally.
The Liverpool Football Club charity has published its sixth annual independent social impact report, highlighting the growing reach of its programmes and partnerships tackling social inequalities.

According to the report, LFC Foundation supported 239,421 people during the season, an increase of more than 93,800 compared to the previous year. This included over 50,000 additional participants benefiting from its international programmes.
The charity delivers initiatives focused on health, learning and employability across the Liverpool City Region and internationally, including Ethiopia, Japan, the Republic of Ireland, Tanzania and the United States.

LFC Foundation generates £96 million in social value
The report revealed that LFC Foundation delivered 14,546 sessions and provided 629,104 hours of contact with participants throughout the season.
Its health and wellbeing programmes, including Man2Man, contributed to an estimated £54.2 million in healthcare savings by supporting mental wellbeing and physical health while helping reduce demand on health services.
Overall, the charity generated £96 million in social value, meaning every £1 spent by LFC Foundation delivered £10.53 in social value for the people and communities it supports.
The Foundation also awarded more than £1 million in grants to local organisations, helping communities develop their strengths, build resilience and create positive change.
This included £200,000 invested in Community Hubs across the Liverpool City Region in partnership with the Steve Morgan Foundation, providing opportunities and support for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Supporting communities across Liverpool
Through its Red Neighbours programme, LFC Foundation donated £413,541 worth of gifted items and experiences during the season.
This included 5,141 match tickets for local schoolchildren and the delivery of 1,000 hot meals every week to people in the local community.
The report also highlighted the impact of several programmes supporting people across Merseyside.
Pathways to Work helps remove barriers preventing people from accessing employment, training and opportunities, while Onside+ supports young people in building positive futures and steering away from crime.
Alongside its local work, the Foundation continues to expand its international programmes.
These include RISE (Reading and Inclusion for Safe Education), which supports displaced and vulnerable primary-aged children in Ethiopia’s Amhara Region through literacy initiatives and safe, inclusive learning environments.
Save Her Seat, meanwhile, is a girls’ retention and empowerment programme designed to help girls remain in education in Tanzania.
Both initiatives are delivered in partnership with Right To Play.
LFC Foundation CEO praises record-breaking impact
Matt Parish, CEO of LFC Foundation, said:
“Our impact is only possible because of our participants, supporters, partners, funders and volunteers. Together, we can support more people and change even more lives moving forward.
“A huge thank you to the wider LFC family – our Club, players and fans – we are proud to be part of The Red Way, Liverpool Football Club’s commitment to building a better future for our people, our planet and our communities.
“Thanks also must go to our loyal and supportive partners including the Steve Morgan Foundation, the Nippon Foundation, Premier League and Premier League Foundation, Professional Footballers Association, and Right to Play.
“We passionately believe a postcode should not determine the life chances of a young person, but unfortunately all too often that is the case which is why our programmes and partnerships are all focused on tackling social inequalities in the communities that need our support the most.
“We’re proud of our work and our impact and we have ambitious plans for the future but these moments are important to allow us to pause and take stock – to have helped almost a quarter of a million people last season alone is simply incredible. And to be able to invest over £1m in grants to local organisations to help them thrive and survive is very special.
“Our growing international work is also a source of immense pride, LFC is a global brand and the power of our badge is immense, so it’s only right that we develop our global work alongside our award-winning local delivery.”
Ambitious plans to help 500,000 people by 2030
Steve Varley, Chair of LFC Foundation, said the independently verified findings demonstrated the lasting difference the charity was making.
He said:
“We now have six years of independently verified data which demonstrates the real impact the LFC Foundation’s programmes are having on people’s lives, not just here in the Liverpool City Region, but internationally as well.
“The benefits reported by the people we work with each season are consistently positive, so we know we are not just tackling social inequality in the communities that need it most, but creating lasting change too.
“I would like to thank my fellow trustees, all the Foundation staff, supporters, partners, funders and, of course, the Football Club, who all played a huge part in our success last season and continue to help us deliver on our mission to work with half a million people by 2030.”
The Foundation’s latest findings underline its commitment to using the power of Liverpool Football Club to create opportunities and improve lives both at home and around the world.
