Liverpool FC Legends will return to Anfield on Saturday 27 March 2027 to take on Inter Legends in a special charity match supporting the LFC Foundation and Forever Reds.
The annual fixture, presented by AXA, Liverpool FC’s Official Training Partner, will kick off at 3pm and bring together former stars from two of European football’s most historic clubs.
The Liverpool FC Legends vs Inter Legends clash will celebrate the clubs’ rich European history while raising vital funds for community programmes across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.
The two sides have shared several memorable European encounters, including the 1965 European Cup semi-final and the 2008 UEFA Champions League last-16 tie, which saw Liverpool secure a 3-0 aggregate victory.
All proceeds from the charity match will support the LFC Foundation and Forever Reds, the club’s official former players’ association.
Liverpool FC Legends charity match to support local communities
The LFC Foundation continues to make a significant difference through its health, learning and employability programmes, with ambitions to support 500,000 people annually by 2030.
Last season, the charity supported 239,421 people, representing a 65% increase on the previous year, including more than 50,000 additional participants internationally.
Across its programmes, the foundation delivered 14,546 sessions and 629,104 hours of contact with participants, generating an estimated £54.2 million in healthcare savings.
Since launching in 2018, Forever Reds has donated £590,000 through its partnership with the LFC Foundation, helping former players and supporting charitable causes focused on health, wellbeing and community care.
The upcoming fixture follows the success of previous Liverpool Legends matches at Anfield, with ten charity games raising more than £10 million for communities across the Liverpool City Region and beyond.
The Liverpool FC Legends management team and playing squad will be announced closer to the match.
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation chief executive, said:
“Anfield has seen some memorable European nights against Inter over the years, so we’re delighted to welcome them back for a fixture that will bring supporters together for a great cause.
“Our supporters, partner and volunteers play a vital role in making our work possible. We passionately believe a postcode should not determine a young person’s life chances, and every supporter who joins us at Anfield will be helping us create more opportunities for people in our communities.
“Last season, we supported almost a quarter of a million people, but we know there is more to do. Every Legends match helps us build on that impact, reach more people and move closer to our ambition of supporting 500,000 people a year by 2030.”
