Southport is getting ready to welcome the festive season as the Southport Christmas Spectacular returns on Saturday 14 November 2026, bringing a packed programme of free family entertainment, live performances and magical Christmas experiences.
Taking place at the Lord Street Bandstand from 11am until 4pm, the popular event promises a fun-filled day for families, with appearances from much-loved children’s characters, music, dance performances and festive activities throughout the town centre.
Organised by Southport BID (Business Improvement District), the free celebration will feature entertainment hosted by Kelly Bond and Alex Toal, with performances from Ray Quinn, K-Pop and Toy Story shows, Miss Rachel and a host of talented local performers.
Meet Paddington, Buzz Lightyear and Santa
One of the highlights of this year’s Southport Christmas Spectacular will be the chance for families to meet some familiar faces.
A special Character Zone outside The Vincent Hotel will give visitors the opportunity to meet and take photographs with the official Paddington from the hit film series.
Buzz Lightyear will also be making appearances throughout the day, giving young fans the chance to meet the popular Toy Story character.
Father Christmas will be joining the celebrations too, with children invited to visit his magical sleigh and hand-deliver their Christmas letters.
Festive activities and Christmas workshops
Alongside the live entertainment, visitors can enjoy a variety of festive activities taking place outside The Vincent Hotel.
There will be Christmas craft stalls, face painting and the return of the popular giant snow globe, offering families plenty of opportunities to capture festive memories.
Inside The Vincent Hotel, a special Paddington-themed Kids Christmas Wellbeing Workshop will also take place.
Places for the workshop must be booked in advance, with tickets available through Ticket Tailor.
Southport Christmas lights set to sparkle
The Southport Christmas Spectacular will also give visitors the chance to experience the town’s beautiful Christmas lights for the first time this festive season.
Every winter, Southport is transformed by more than 200,000 sparkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere throughout the town centre.
Highlights include the impressive 60ft Christmas tree and the much-loved illuminated Bear and Reindeer characters, which have become familiar festive favourites.
