In just over a week, Make on the Corner will open its doors for a week-long showcase featuring the artists, makers, and creative businesses that are currently shaping the local landscape in Huyton.
Make on the Corner is a dedicated space for exhibitions, workshops, and community activities situated just across the road from the Make Huyton Hub. Starting from Thursday, 14 May, the venue will host the Make Huyton Village Showcase.
This event invites visitors to step inside and explore a full exhibition dedicated to the talent based in the studios on Derby Road, providing a rare opportunity to see a diverse range of local work all in one place.
A Creative Experience in the Heart of the Village

For residents who have frequently walked past and wondered about the activity inside these studios, the showcase offers the perfect chance to find out.
The exhibition features a wide variety of work produced within the community, ranging from fine art to performance pieces.
It serves as a celebration of local creativity and offers a unique cultural experience right in the centre of the Village.
Visitors attending the showcase can look forward to several highlights, as Meet the Makers involves getting to know the artists, designers, and small business owners who operate out of the local studios.
Made in Huyton allows guests to discover unique and high-quality work that has been designed and crafted directly in the Village.
Get Involved includes interactive elements where visitors are invited to engage with the creative process themselves. Support Local Talent provides information on how to champion and support the independent makers within the community.
Dan Chan of Make CIC said:
“This showcase is about welcoming local people from Huyton and Knowsley into the space, giving them the chance to engage with art, meet the makers, and support the incredible creative talent that exists within their own community.
“It is about opening the doors and sharing what is being created here, right on their doorstep.”
Opening Night and Exhibition Details
The event begins with an informal launch evening on Thursday, 14 May.
This opening night is an opportunity for guests to be among the first to experience the exhibition and meet the resident artists in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
