The date for next year’s headline BTR Liverpool Half Marathon has been officially revealed.
The 34th staging of the iconic race will take place on Sunday, 14 March 2027 – and will again start from Everton Football Club’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on the Liverpool waterfront.
Now the Premier League fixtures for the 2026/2027 season have been released, the race date has been agreed and confirmed by race organisers BTR Liverpool, Liverpool City Council, and Everton Football Club.
Entries are now open here.
Now that the date has been confirmed, runners who have already registered will be contacted directly.
Those who cannot attend the confirmed date will be given a number of options.
They can either transfer their entry to another BTR event in 2026 or 2027 free of charge, transfer their entry to another runner free of charge, or receive a refund.
The race sold out at 12,000 places in 2023 and 2024.
Earlier this year, a change to the start line from Pier Head, Liverpool, to the Hill Dickinson Stadium meant an additional 3,000 places were made available, resulting in the 2025 race selling out at 15,000 places.
The Liverpool Half Marathon was first staged in 1994, and this year’s race in March was the biggest ever. BTR Liverpool anticipates high demand for the 2027 race and expects the event to sell out for a fourth consecutive year.
City Centre Route and Landmark Landmarks

Following a change to the start line location for 2025, the first four miles of the route were also updated, taking in more of the city centre and its landmarks, including Liverpool Town Hall, Chinese Arch, and Liverpool Cathedral.
The race will continue to finish at the world-famous Pier Head Liverpool in front of the Three Graces, Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building, and Port Of Liverpool Building, and under the gaze of the iconic Liver Birds.
BTR Liverpool will work closely with partners and multi-agency planning groups to ensure smooth movement around the city for runners, spectators, local residents, and visitors.
The event has built a massive global profile, with the 2025 race attracting 300 international runners from countries including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Channel Islands, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Jersey, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, and the United States of America.

“We’re excited to announce the confirmed date for the BTR Liverpool Half Marathon 2027.
“Now the date is locked in, anticipation will really start to build and entries will continue to rise.
“Over the last few years, the race has jumped to another level, selling out for three consecutive years and is enjoying unprecedented growth.
“It’s always been popular and had a loyal following, but now it’s become a ‘must do’ in the race calendar.
“We’re attracting more international runners, and seeing the streets of the city on race day lined with spectators is always encouraging.”
