Filming for the upcoming BBC drama Hercule has continued across the Liverpool City Region, with cameras rolling in Hamilton Square in Birkenhead.
New images captured on Friday, 4 September show the production taking over part of Hamilton Square Gardens as scenes were filmed for the new Agatha Christie series.

The latest shoot included scenes involving Hercule Poirot cycling through the gardens, with a stunt double used for some of the bike sequences.
Actor James D’Arcy was also pictured on set during filming, dressed in a dark period suit as production continued around the historic square.

D’Arcy is among the officially confirmed cast for the six-part drama and is known for a string of film and television roles, including Edwin Jarvis in Marvel’s Agent Carter and appearances in Oppenheimer and Constellation. Details of the character he will play in Hercule have not yet been officially revealed.
The new series stars Edward Bluemel as a younger Hercule Poirot and will follow the famous Belgian detective during his earlier years, before he becomes the world-renowned sleuth familiar to generations of Agatha Christie readers.

The drama will draw on three of Christie’s early Poirot stories, exploring the detective as a character while also introducing some of the people who will go on to become important figures in his life.
Bluemel is joined by a cast which also includes Henry Ashton, Calvin Demba, Phil Dunning, Jack Gleeson, Tamsin Greig, James Nesbitt, Guy Remmers, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Mawaan Rizwan.
Hamilton Square is the latest Liverpool City Region location to be transformed for the production.

Filming has already been spotted at Exchange Flags in Liverpool city centre, where crews, production vehicles and large green screens were seen around the historic location in August.
The Liverpool City Region’s architecture has once again proved well suited to a period production, with Hamilton Square’s Grade I-listed surroundings providing a fitting backdrop for the drama’s interwar setting.
Hercule is being produced by Mammoth Screen and Agatha Christie Limited for the BBC and BritBox North America, with filming taking place primarily in Liverpool.
The six-part series is due to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in 2027.
