Disney Cruise Line will return to Liverpool Cruise Port on Wednesday 9 September, with a special waterfront celebration planned to mark the Disney Dream’s visit to the city.
Over the years, Disney Cruise Line has become a popular visitor to Liverpool, regularly attracting crowds to the waterfront whenever its ships arrive in the city.
Liverpool Cruise Port, supported by Culture Liverpool, is now inviting families, cruise enthusiasts and Disney fans to gather at the Pier Head to give Disney Dream a memorable farewell as it departs.
The ship is scheduled to leave its berth at 7pm, with music on the Pier Head beginning from around 6pm.
Weather permitting, the sail-away celebration will also feature a brief fireworks finale.
After leaving the cruise berth, Disney Dream will travel a short distance before holding its position in the middle of the River Mersey, directly in front of the Pier Head.
The special sail-away moment will then take place before the ship continues its journey.
Spectators are being encouraged to gather at the Pier Head for the best views of the celebration rather than Princes Parade, which has traditionally been a popular vantage point for cruise ship departures.
The event will provide another opportunity for Liverpool to celebrate its long-standing connection with the cruise industry while giving passengers aboard Disney Dream a memorable send-off from the city.

Since Liverpool Cruise Port transferred to Global Ports Holding, Liverpool has continued to see growth in cruise calls and increasing interest in Liverpool as a destination.
This sail-away moment is another great example of partnership working, with Liverpool Cruise Port leading on the maritime operation whilst Culture Liverpool supports on event management.
We’re delighted to help create a warm Liverpool send-off for one of the world’s most recognisable cruise ships and hope people can come down and enjoy the unique occasion.

Music is expected to begin from approximately 6pm, with Disney Dream scheduled to depart at 7pm on Wednesday 9 September.
