Free children’s tickets are now available for the much-anticipated Minton Tiles Reveal at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
The special offer is available on Sunday 9 August, Sunday 16 August and Sunday 23 August, giving families the chance to see the spectacular Victorian tiled floor which is normally hidden from view.
Children can attend free of charge when tickets are pre-booked through Ticket Quarter using the promotional code MTR26KGF at checkout.
During the Minton Tiles Reveal, visitors can walk around the perimeter of the famous floor and take a closer look at one of St George’s Hall’s most celebrated historic features.
The intricate Minton tiled floor contains thousands of individually designed tiles and is usually protected beneath a wooden covering, with the reveal offering a rare opportunity for visitors to see it in its full glory.
A series of family-friendly activities will also be available during the event.
Young visitors can enjoy a Minton Tiles-inspired game of tic-tac-toe, dress up as Victorian prisoners, guards or footmen and complete themed activity books as they explore the landmark building.
Families are also being encouraged to take part in the free Minton Tiles Trail Map, which has been developed in partnership with Liverpool BID.
The trail takes people on a journey around Liverpool city centre, where they can discover tile-inspired designs displayed in shop windows and colour them in on their map.
Completed trail maps can then be returned to St George’s Hall, where they will be put on display.
The free children’s ticket offer forms part of a wider programme of free and affordable activities available to families across Liverpool during the summer holidays.
Families can also take advantage of the Government’s Summer Savings initiative, which includes reduced VAT on selected children’s and family activities including theatre and cinema tickets, restaurant meals and amusement parks until 1 September 2026.
Free bus travel is also available for under-15s throughout August, providing another way for families to reduce the cost of days out during the school holidays.
