Following a string of sold-out performances, it has been announced that one of the UK’s most sought-after experiences, the Christmas By Candlelight festive concert series, is coming to the North West this year, with multiple dates announced.
Blending world-class West End vocals, sensational live bands, breathtaking venues, and framed by hundreds of flickering candles, Christmas By Candlelight has firmly established itself as a night out.
The high-energy, feel-good festive celebration is packed with sing-alongs, dancing and show-stopping performances and has been a huge hit year-on-year, selling out across the UK since 2023.
Organisers have announced five venues, which are Chester Cathedral, Blackburn Cathedral, Liverpool Cathedral, The Monastery, Manchester, and The Pencil Factory, Keswick, that will host 32 live performances in December.

The inclusion of the iconic city venue holds personal significance for members of the touring production company. Drummer Ollie Graham said:
“Liverpool and the North West has always had music running through its veins, so getting to be part of bringing the Christmas By Candlelight tour to audiences here feels brilliant.
“As a drummer, there’s something really special about the energy of these shows.
“The atmosphere, the big arrangements, the crowd singing along, it’s the kind of performance you completely lose yourself in.
“Christmas audiences are always amazing, and to experience that in the place I grew up makes it even more memorable.
“I can’t wait to get on stage and kick off the festive season back home.”
Ben Purkiss, who starred in the West End production of Bat Out of Hell, added:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be returning to the North West this Christmas and bringing a little West End magic with us.
“These shows are such a joy to perform, and the energy from the audience is unlike anything else.
“Year after year, the Christmas tour continues to sell out, and when you see the reaction from the crowd, it’s easy to understand why.
“It’s become a festive tradition for so many people, ourselves included, and honestly, I think we enjoy it just as much as the audience does!”

The 2026 programme will feature a spectacular line-up of productions, including Christmas By Candlelight, ABBA Christmas By Candlelight, Bublé Christmas By Candlelight, Motown Christmas By Candlelight, and Rat Pack, A Swingin’ Christmas By Candlelight.
