Liverpool indie favourites The Cheap Thrills have announced details of their long-awaited debut album, Keep Cheap, which will be released on 18 September 2026.
Alongside the album announcement, the band have also revealed an extensive UK headline tour, as well as a series of special instore performances, including three dates in their hometown of Liverpool to celebrate the record’s release.
After years of building a loyal following through relentless touring, sold-out hometown shows and a string of acclaimed singles, Keep Cheap marks a major milestone for one of Liverpool’s most exciting modern guitar bands.
A Debut Album Years In The Making
More than just a debut album, Keep Cheap reflects the band’s journey from teenage friends rehearsing together in Liverpool to becoming one of the city’s most talked-about indie acts.
Opening track hairs introduces the album with shimmering synths and an uplifting feel, while looking delivers politically charged storytelling with spoken-word influences.
Elsewhere, run explores the realities of living with anxiety, pairing upbeat guitar hooks with lyrics reflecting internal struggles and the temptation to escape.
The emotional honesty continues throughout the record, with tracks including air breathing mammals and electric fencestackling isolation, self-worth and vulnerability.
The album also features fan favourites including codependence and walton vale, two songs that have played a huge role in The Cheap Thrills’ rise.
Walton Vale has become one of the band’s defining songs, offering a compassionate look at addiction and hardship through the lens of the Liverpool street, while codependence reached an even wider audience after featuring as part of Liverpool FC’s European kit campaign.
Biggest Liverpool Show Yet
The album announcement comes during an exciting period for the band, who are preparing to headline their biggest hometown show to date at Mountford Hall before embarking on festival appearances and a nationwide headline tour.
Fans will also have the opportunity to meet the band during three Liverpool instore performances at Jacaranda Balticand The Jacaranda following the album’s release.
