There’s cause for celebration at The Watering Can as Liverpool’s most-loved Sunday Roast makes its highly anticipated return from Sunday 19 October, running through to spring 2026.
To mark the occasion, the first 100 diners enjoying the iconic roast this coming Sunday will receive a complimentary drink: a glass of house red or white wine, a chilled beer, or a soft drink, to raise a toast to the “Return of The Roast.”
The much-loved Sunday service has become a firm favourite for food lovers across the North West, drawing diners from far and wide to experience what regulars fondly describe as “as good as ya Ma’s”. Bookings are now open, with tables filling fast for what promises to be a standout dining experience.
Guests can choose from three courses for £36 or two courses for £28, featuring a menu packed with flavour and locally sourced ingredients. Highlights include sharing snacks and starters, a selection of traditional roasts, indulgent sides and classic desserts. Diners can savour Salt-aged Hereford beef rump, Roast Goosnargh chicken or a Wild mushroom and hazelnut roast, each served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, maple-glazed carrots, green vegetables and rich gravy (meat or vegetable). The Watering Can’s famous truffle cauliflower cheese and creamed cabbage also make a welcome return.
For those looking for something extra special, The Watering Can has introduced a Chateaubriand sharing platter for two (£65 supplement): A showstopping 16oz grass-fed prime pedigree beef dish, reared in the Lake District. Served with asparagus, dauphinoise potatoes and a choice of blue cheese or peppercorn sauce. The platter is available by pre-order only (72 hours’ notice required).
