Award-Winning Southport Restaurant Tik Taco Set to Spice Up Southport Comedy Festival 2026

One of Southport’s most popular restaurants is set to add a taste of Mexico to this year’s Southport Comedy Festival after being announced as both a catering partner and event sponsor for the landmark 2026 event.

Award-winning Mexican street food specialists Tik Taco will serve up their famous tacos, loaded nachos, burritos and freshly made sides throughout the festival, giving comedy fans plenty to enjoy before and after the shows.

The partnership marks another major milestone for the Southport-based business, which has built a loyal following across the region thanks to its authentic flavours, festival appearances and commitment to inclusive dining.

Located on Coronation Walk in Southport town centre, Tik Taco has become a favourite among locals and visitors alike, while also earning recognition on a regional stage after being named a finalist in the Restaurant of the Year category at the 2025 Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards.

Festival-goers attending this year’s Southport Comedy Festival will be able to enjoy Tik Taco’s freshly prepared Mexican street food throughout the event, which takes place from 2 to 18 October in Victoria Park.

Owners Anthony and Emma Greenland have become familiar faces at some of the North West’s biggest events, including the Southport Flower Show and Southport Food and Drink Festival, where their popular food trailer regularly attracts long queues.

Their involvement in the Comedy Festival continues Tik Taco’s strong support for community events across Southport and demonstrates the restaurant’s commitment to helping create memorable visitor experiences.

Owner and Head Chef Anthony Greenland said: 

“We love being involved in events that bring people together. Comedy, great food and community spirit are a perfect combination for us.

“Supporting Southport Comedy Festival is something we’re really proud of.”

One of Tik Taco’s key strengths is its accessibility, with around 90 per cent of its menu gluten free, alongside a variety of vegan, vegetarian and allergen-friendly options.

The Southport Comedy Festival returns in 2026 for its milestone 15th anniversary celebrations and promises one of its strongest line-ups to date.

Festival Director Brendan Riley welcomed Tik Taco’s involvement and believes the restaurant will be a huge hit with audiences.

Brendan Riley said: 

“We are really excited to welcome Tik Taco as our catering partner and as an event sponsor for this year’s Southport Comedy Festival.

“They offer freshly-made, authentic Mexican street food which is absolutely delicious and our festival-goers are going to love it.”

This year’s festival will feature performances from some of the biggest names in British comedy, including Jason Manford, Jimeoin, Jason Byrne, Henning Wehn, Gary Delaney, Paul Sinha, Mike Wozniak, Seann Walsh, Laura Smyth, Paul Merton and Suki Webster, Clinton Baptiste and Adam Kay.

The event will once again take place inside the luxury, fully-seated and heated Elite Events marquee in Victoria Park, home of the world-famous Southport Flower Show.

With great comedy, excellent drinks and now award-winning Mexican street food on the menu, organisers are expecting another memorable year for one of the North West’s most popular comedy festivals.

Liverpool Cocktail Week is returning this October, bringing 10 days of cocktails, exclusive offers and special experiences to bars and restaurants across the city. Running from Friday 9 October to Sunday 18 October 2026, the city-wide festival will return for its fourth edition, with more than 50 venues joining this year’s line-up. Cocktail lovers will be able to explore some of Liverpool’s best-known bars alongside independent venues, restaurants and hotels, with participating names including Black Cat Club, BCD, The Alchemist and Turtle Bay. Cocktails from £5 with Liverpool Cocktail Week wristbands At the heart of the festival is the official Liverpool Cocktail Week wristband, which gives holders access to hundreds of signature cocktails priced from £5, as well as discounts on drinks, food and other offers. Wristbands are valid throughout all 10 days of the festival, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to try new venues and explore Liverpool’s hospitality scene. Cocktails included in the festival will be priced between £5 and £7. Royal Albert Dock joins Liverpool Cocktail Week Royal Albert Dock Liverpool returns as the festival’s official event partner, with 11 venues around the waterfront taking part. The participating dockside venues are Delhi House, Gusto, Lunyalita, Miller & Carter, PANAM, Revolution, Rosa’s Thai, The Botanist, The One O’Clock Gun, The Long Shot and What’s Cooking? Festival-goers will also be able to collect their Liverpool Cocktail Week wristbands from Gusto, making Royal Albert Dock a convenient starting point for exploring the festival.
