The Beatles Story and Fab4 Café are developing a series of new initiatives aimed at supporting people living with dementia across Liverpool City Region and beyond, with plans set to launch from 2026.
Focused on raising awareness of the powerful connection between music and memory, the programme will include the introduction of a regular memory café – In My Life Memory Café – alongside tailored experiences within the award-winning Beatles Story exhibition and outreach opportunities for staff.

The initiatives are inspired by research carried out by leading music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins, whose evaluations in 2023 and 2024 found that 87 per cent of people living with dementia experienced an enhanced quality of life through music therapy. The Beatles Story aims to bring these positive findings closer to home, using the universal appeal of The Beatles and the memories of the 1960s to help spark recognition, comfort and connection.
By combining proven research with the era-defining music and stories already embedded within the attraction, the team hopes to nurture precious memories and create welcoming, supportive spaces for individuals living with dementia and those who care for them.
The announcement forms part of The Beatles Story’s wider commitment to sustainability and community engagement. In June 2025, the attraction was awarded a Silver Green Tourism Award and is now progressing towards Gold status, reflecting its ongoing efforts to make a positive social and environmental impact.
The Beatles Story team are encouraging care providers and institutions to get in touch if their new dementia scheme may benefit the individuals that they provide care for. To begin discussions, please reach out to enquiries@beatlesstory.com
