The Atkinson announces the full Cast for Beauty and the Beast

The Atkinson in Southport is inviting audiences to “be their guest” this Christmas as it reveals the full cast for its 2025 festive spectacular, Beauty and the Beast.

This year’s production blends much-loved returning performers with exciting new talent, promising heart, humour and a fresh take on the classic fairytale.

Leading the cast once again is Coral Mourant, returning for a second year as Morgiana, Queen of the Wolves. Hailing from a family steeped in theatre in Connah’s Quay, Coral brings a wealth of pantomime experience and plenty of villainous charm to the role.

Coral said:

“I am so excited to come back for my second year at The Atkinson and stir up some villainous fun on stage. It is such a joy to perform in this wonderful venue with the best crew and audiences who are always ready for a laugh.”

Also returning to The Atkinson’s stage is audience favourite Samantha Richards. Back for her fourth show and second pantomime at the venue, Samantha, who delighted crowds as Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, brings her trademark warmth and sparkle.

Pantomime regular Gregor Duncan steps into the role of Billy Bon Bon, drawing on years of experience from his early pantomime days at Glasgow’s Citizens Theatre to his work with KD Theatre. He’ll be joined by the incomparable Terry Burns, celebrating his tenth pantomime season at The Atkinson. As Dame Bon Bon, Terry promises big laughs, cheeky moments and plenty of festive fun.

Gregor said:

“The buzz of working in live theatre can never be matched. Playing comedic roles gives so many opportunities to interact with the audience, and I can’t wait to share laughs with everyone in Southport.”

Terry and previously announced cast member Safia Bartley will once again spread some magic on stage, with Terry reprising his beloved Dame role and Safia taking on her first leading pantomime performance as Belle.

Joining the company for the first time is Matthew Elward as the Beast and Prince. Originally from Ringwood, Hampshire, Matthew has been involved in theatre from a young age and made his pantomime debut with KD Theatre last year. Together with Safia, he will bring the show’s romantic storyline to life.

Audiences can also expect a fresh twist on a classic villain as Sam Robinson takes on the role of Gastrong — a boastful, self-obsessed show-off with a flair for comedy thanks to his years entertaining on cruise ships.

Completing the cast is a professional ensemble featuring Chris Gray and Felicity Nunn, alongside talented young performers from Southport Dance Academy.

Daniel Bell, Managing Director and Producer at KD Theatre Productions, said:

“Southport audiences are in for a treat as these characters spring to life through our talented cast. They will bring the energy needed to create a fantastic show, full of giggles, boos, and cheers.”

The Atkinson and KD Theatre Productions are committed to making theatre accessible for everyone, with relaxed and captioned performances ensuring all can enjoy the festive fun.

Marie Kenny, Programme Manager at The Atkinson, said:

“Every year, The Atkinson’s pantomime marks the start of the festive season, and this year promises to be truly enchanting. KD Theatre Productions will bring a classic fairytale to life with excitement, music, and surprises for all ages.”

Packed with laughs, songs, and sparkle, Beauty and the Beast promises a joyful festive experience for the whole family, allowing everyone to step into a tale as old as time this Christmas.

Tickets are on sale now here or via the Box Office.

Beauty and the Beast runs at The Atkinson, Southport, from Friday, December 5 to Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
