Based on the iconic Paranormal Activity film series, the stage phenomenon Paranormal Activity will haunt Liverpool in April 2027.
It was first written and directed by Oren Peli and brought to the screen by Blumhouse Productions and Solana Films.
Inspired by the worldwide franchise, this brand-new story is written by acclaimed playwright Levi Holloway and directed by immersive theatre pioneer Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk.
Following a sell-out extended run in London, the production now embarks on its first spooky UK and Ireland tour.
West End horror hit comes to Liverpool Empire
The story follows James and Lou, who move from Chicago to London, hoping to leave their past behind.
Instead, they are confronted by an unsettling presence that forces them to realise a chilling truth that places are not haunted, people are.
What unfolds is a gripping descent into psychological dread that keeps audiences on the edge throughout.

Blurring the line between cinema and live theatre, Paranormal Activity reimagines the modern ghost story with an intimacy only the stage can deliver.
Holloway’s script blends domestic horror with bold theatricality, while Barrett’s visionary direction breaks down the barrier between audience and performer to create an immediate and unsettling experience.
The show terrified West End audiences during its London run, with Metro calling it “relentlessly frightening, arm-clutchingly, stranger-embracingly so”.
Innovative staging, chilling soundscapes and expertly crafted illusions combine to produce a night of theatre that lingers long after the curtain falls.
The creative team includes Set and Costume Designer Fly Davis, Illusions by Chris Fisher, Lighting Design by Anna Watson, Sound Design by Gareth Fry, Video Design by Luke Halls and Casting Direction by Ginny Schiller CDG. Full casting is yet to be announced.
Liverpool audiences are being urged to hold their nerve when the production arrives in 2027 at the Liverpool Empire Theatre.
This is more than a ghost story, it is your favourite horror film brought to life right in front of your very eyes.
