Visitors to Royal Albert Dock Liverpool can enjoy a spectacular 3D fireworks projection tonight (Friday 6 November), as the waterfront landmark extends the city’s Bonfire Night celebrations with an innovative, noise-free display.
Taking place from 5pm to 8pm, the immersive experience will transform the façade of the Maritime Museum into a colourful fireworks spectacle using cutting-edge ChromaDepth® 3D technology.
The display marks Liverpool’s first use of ChromaDepth® 3D projection on a Grade I-listed building, offering visitors a unique way to celebrate Bonfire Night without traditional fireworks.
A spectacular 3D fireworks experience at Royal Albert Dock
Using three laser projectors positioned around the dock, the Maritime Museum will come alive with carefully mapped colours, glowing embers and animated fireworks.
The projection will also feature the familiar Bonfire Night rhyme, adding a traditional touch to the modern visual experience.
Unlike conventional fireworks displays, the ChromaDepth® installation produces no explosive noise, making it a more accessible alternative for families with young children and people with additional sensory needs.
The weather-proof display also helps protect local wildlife while respecting the historic surroundings of Royal Albert Dock.
Where to collect free 3D glasses
Visitors enjoying an evening of dining, shopping or drinks at Royal Albert Dock can collect special ChromaDepth® 3D glasses from selected businesses around the waterfront.
The glasses reveal the full three-dimensional effects of the projection, with warm colours appearing closer to viewers and cooler colours creating the illusion of depth.
A limited number of glasses will be available at participating venues, including:
- Gusto
- Francie’s Focaccia and Coffee
- Harbour Accessories
- Quay Confectionary
- House of Spells
- Lunyalita
Additional participating businesses will also be offering glasses, subject to availability.
