Punters will think the luck of the Irish has come in when news spreads of the newest export inside Cains Brewery!
Punch Tarmey’s Irish Pub located inside the big red bricked venue on Stanhope Street, is part of the massive £7 million investment that is set to redevelop the former Cains buildings by Mikhail Leisure. The place offers a family friendly atmosphere of a day time and is set to become a great hot stop in the evening.
The sport led bar is also set to host brewery tours, meaning one thing… the venue certainly won’t be pulling no punches. Chairman of St Helens-based Mikhail Leisure Andrew Mikhail believes the venue will become a tourism hotspot, he said:
“We’ve invested approaching £2m into Punch Tarmey Liverpool and it’s a professional and personal dream come true for me especially because of my Irish roots. My great grandfather was a renowned bare-knuckle fighter nicknamed Punch Tarmey, the name that gave birth to an existing portfolio of bars we own and operate in the region.
“We’ve already had great initial feedback with many people commenting on the transformation and how stunning the pub looks.”
The redevelopment has created up to 50 jobs so far in this first of the four phases, with £2 million being spent on setting up the massive Irish pub. Food will be available as well as a wide Artisan range of beers, wines and spirits including rare Irish Whiskeys and Gin, craft and cask beers and classic cocktails. Pub grub is served in true Irish style ranging from Steak and Guinness pie, Irish Stew, Pogues marinated chicken breast burger to Irish sausages with colcannon onion gravy… mouth-watering hearty food at its finest!
From the plush leather seating to the bespoke wall and ceiling finishes, when socialising in Punch Tarmey’s you will surely end up on the gargle and may end up Fluthered… but its sure to be a grand visit!
