“You don’t need to go into the city centre for a fun night,” New Bar in Crosby Village Hopes to put North Liverpool “Back on the Map”.
Suburb 24 is set to open from the 16th of April, and they are keen to give the area some much-needed excitement.
The new bar and restaurant will take over from The Village Pub at 2-4 Moor Lane and intends to showcase the benefits of staying local.
Liam Shannon is part of the four-person team, alongside wife Aminah, sister Clare and brother-in-law Graeme. Three of the four had grown up within the suburb and they all felt it was the perfect location for their business.
“We want to breathe life back into Crosby and create a space that could put North Liverpool back on the map. We really believe that you don’t need to go into the city centre for a safe and fun night.”
It will boast an open flame Argentine grill, serving aged meats alongside vegetarian alternatives and a bar serving cocktails, craft beers and spirits. The basement space is set to become ‘blackdoor24’, a live music and performance venue.
Shannon said: “We aim to provide something for everyone.”
Initially there will be outdoor seating and drinks available from Friday, but with Covid and the current weather, this may be subject to change, so they recommend to check social media for updates. The venue will undergo a “full refurbishment” before the indoor spaces are due to open in mid-to-late June, with dining facilities set to follow shortly after.
