Summer of Sound is a season-long series of gigs, special events and talks taking place in the museum, created in partnership with Liverpool’s world-famous The Cavern Club to mark National Museums Liverpool’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Liverpool Icon Michael Head Set For Intimate Waterfront Summer Of Sound Show
Michael Head and the Red Elastic Band is the latest acclaimed project from revered Liverpool singer-songwriter Michael Head (formerly of The Pale Fountains, Shack, and The Strands). The band’s flexible, shifting lineup perfectly matches Head’s sweeping, autobiographical, and poetic storytelling. Head became a cult icon in the 1980s and 90s, described by the NME as “a lost genius and among the most gifted British songwriters of his generation”.
This special one-off event is in collaboration with The Cavern Club, headlining National Museums Liverpool’s Summer of Sound, a six-week music programme.
The event is suitable for those aged 16 and over, though under-18s should be accompanied by an adult. On the night, doors open at 7 pm with the main event starting at 8 pm before closing at 11 pm.
A pay bar will be operating throughout the evening.
Members’ pre-sale tickets are available ahead of the general release, with general sale tickets launching at 10.30 am on Friday, 12 June.
