Racehorses are coming to the heart of Liverpool as National Racehorse Week brings a free pop-up event to Liverpool ONE this summer.
Taking place at Liverpool ONE on Saturday 22 August, the event will give visitors the chance to get up close to retired racehorses and discover more about life behind the scenes of British racing as part of National Racehorse Week 2026.
The family-friendly event will feature a range of interactive activities designed to introduce people of all ages to the world of horse racing, whether they’re lifelong fans or completely new to the sport.
Meet Retired Racehorses And Try Interactive Activities
Visitors can meet retired racehorses, watch live farrier demonstrations and have a go on a mechanical horse while learning more about the care and welfare that goes into looking after Thoroughbreds throughout their lives.
The pop-up will also include hosted talks, question-and-answer sessions, giveaways and prizes, with special guest appearances from racing influencers throughout the day.
Organisers say the event aims to shine a light on the people working behind the scenes in racing, from trainers and grooms to farriers and vets, while showcasing the dedication involved in caring for racehorses.
Part Of National Racehorse Week 2026
The Liverpool ONE event forms part of National Racehorse Week, which runs from 22 to 31 August and offers thousands of free places at more than 75 events across England and Wales.
Visitors can explore training yards, retraining centres and racecourses, with the Liverpool pop-up bringing that experience into the city centre.
National Racehorse Week was created to give the public a better understanding of British racing and the high standards of care racehorses receive throughout their careers and into retirement.
The free Liverpool ONE pop-up will take place at Liverpool ONE, 5 Wall Street, Liverpool, L1 8JQ, with activities suitable for families and visitors of all ages.
