Africa Oyé has confirmed the dates for its landmark 2027 festival, with Liverpool’s celebration of African and Caribbean music and culture set to mark its 35th anniversary next summer.

The festival will return to Sefton Park on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June 2027, with limited earlybird tickets now on sale.

The UK’s biggest celebration of African and Caribbean music and culture will reach a major milestone in 2027, three and a half decades after Africa Oyé first began bringing international artists and vibrant cultural experiences to Liverpool.

The announcement follows a hugely successful 2026 festival, which saw Africa Oyé make the transition from its historic free-entry model to a ticketed event.

Paul Duhaney, Artistic Director Africa Oyé said:

“We didn’t know what to expect this year making the transition from a free event to a ticketed one and it was truly emotional to see so many people come along for the ride with us on this new journey.

We’ve kept the ticket prices as affordable as possible for next year and can’t wait to do it all over again in summer 2027 as we celebrate 35 years of Oyé.”

More than 25,000 people attended across the weekend, with the Saturday completely selling out as thousands gathered in Sefton Park for live music, food, workshops and activities.

This year’s international line-up included Nigerian Afrobeats star Patoranking, acclaimed Malian singer and guitarist Fatoumata Diawara and British reggae icon Janet Kay.

Organisers are now looking ahead to the festival’s 35th anniversary, promising another eclectic celebration of music and culture from across Africa and the wider Diaspora.

The 2027 programme will feature international performers alongside emerging local talent, community performances and the return of the popular Oyé DJ stage.

Families will also be able to enjoy workshops and activities in the Oyé Family Zone, while more than 90 stalls are expected to fill the Oyé Village with world food, arts, crafts and more.

Earlybird tickets for Liverpool City Region residents start from £12, while children’s tickets are priced from £2.50 and under-fives can attend free of charge.

With the festival celebrating 35 years in 2027, organisers are encouraging audiences to book early following the sell-out success of this summer’s event.

Africa Oyé Festival 2027 takes place at Sefton Park, Liverpool, on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June 2027.

Limited earlybird tickets are on sale now via Ticket Quarter.
