Liverpool FC has today revealed images of a new permanent memorial at Anfield in tribute to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, following their passing last July.
Titled Forever 20, the memorial celebrates their lives, their bond, and the love and respect felt by family, teammates, and supporters across the world.
At its centre is a flowing heart sculpture, which serves as an acknowledgement of Diogo’s iconic goal celebration.
When viewed from different angles, the design also reveals the numbers 20 and 30, which adorned the back of the brothers’ playing shirts during their careers.
The memorial will also feature the lyrics to Jota’s famous song, which remains beloved by Liverpool fans and is still sung at every game on the 20th minute.
A Permanent Symbol of Unity
The club has confirmed that the sculpture will be positioned on 97 Avenue.
This location holds significant meaning as it is where thousands of physical tributes, including flowers, scarves, and banners, were placed by the public in the immediate aftermath of their loss.
The memorial will stand on a Granby Rock-faced stone plinth, which has been laser-engraved with a dedication to both brothers.
In a unique recycling process, many of the physical tributes left at Anfield have been incorporated into the plinth itself.
This ensures that the voices and emotions shared by fans at the time become a permanent and enduring part of the structure.
The design also includes personal references that reflect Diogo’s life beyond football, such as a game controller detail resting on the plinth.
Unveiling and Remembrance

The club will provide further updates on when the sculpture will be officially unveiled to the public.
Once in place, it will serve as a permanent symbol of love, unity, and remembrance, providing a dedicated space where everyone can reflect and pay their respects.
The memorial aims to capture the essence of the brothers’ relationship and the profound impact they had on the global football community.
By placing it in such a prominent position at the stadium, the club ensures that their memory remains at the heart of Anfield for future generations of supporters.
