Knowsley Hall, Merseyside’s grand stately home, will be hosting a second exclusive Garden Picnic.

The picnic will take place on Saturday 15th May within its previously unseen grounds, after tickets to the first sought-after event sold out in just 24 hours.

The event from 12 noon-15:30 will provide guests with a unique opportunity to safely reunite with friends and family at a beautiful Garden Picnic within Knowsley Hall’s stunning private gardens – marking the second time they will have ever been open to the public.

Head Chef Gareth Boulton will be preparing the afternoon food, and adult guests will be presented with an individual Knowsley Hall picnic box comprising a delicious selection of finger sandwiches plus a scotch quail egg, freshly baked scone, and an assortment of home-made cakes. Children are also welcome and can enjoy a delightful picnic bag containing finger sandwiches plus a fruit pot, muffin, and soft drink.

In addition, guests can take advantage of the pop-up garden bar and toast the end of lockdown with a special G&T, made from the Estate’s limited-edition Knowsley Walled Garden Gin. Commissioned by Lord Stanley (son of Lord Derby) this exclusive gin is created with a perfect blend of fragrant botanicals – including elderflower, lavender, mint, and lemons – all sourced from Knowsley Estate’s Walled Garden and distilled and bottled in Liverpool by Love Lane Brewery.  This refreshing G&T can be savoured while enjoying live entertainment from renowned pianist Liz Hendry.

Rachel Scott, Head of Marketing, Knowsley Estate commented:

“We were overwhelmed at the response to the launch of our first Garden Picnic and due to popular demand, we are delighted to open Knowsley Hall’s exquisitely manicured grounds for a second event.

“The pandemic has meant that all of us have missed out on spending time with the people that matter to us most.  We wanted to mark the easing of restrictions by hosting a memorable affair in a safe, outdoor setting that reflects how special it is to once again be able to socialise with friends and loved ones again.

“This is a strictly ticketed-only event with limited places so given how quickly the first Garden Picnic sold out we would recommend booking early to avoid disappointment!”

A limited number of chairs and tables will be available on Knowsley Hall’s Terrace so bringing foldable chairs or picnic blankets is advisable.

Tickets cost £25pp (adult picnic) and £15pp (child picnic) and are available via the Knowsley Hall website here.  Vegetarian and vegan picnic options are available upon request.
