Liverpool Central Library will once again come alive with invention and imagination as Liverpool MakeFest returns on Saturday 5 July, celebrating a decade of creativity.
Running from 9am to 5pm, the free event will transform every floor of the library into a hive of hands-on activity, with makers, artists, and performers from across the UK showcasing everything from tech innovation to traditional crafts.

This year’s theme — ‘History’ — will be explored through interactive workshops, live demos, engaging exhibitions, and even cutting-edge tools like 3D printers.
There’s something for everyone: families can dive into a full day of educational entertainment, from sea shanties by the Port Sunlight Sea Dogs to the high-energy rhythms of Luma Creations’ Comparsa La Bomba and the Wirral Drummers.
And don’t be surprised if you spot a Dalek roaming the halls — ready to test your knowledge and raise a few eyebrows!
Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, Councillor Harry Doyle, said:
“Liverpool MakeFest is a brilliant celebration of creativity in all its forms — from tech and science to art and performance.
“It’s a fantastic way to bring people together, spark curiosity, and showcase the incredible talent we have both locally and nationally.
“I’m thrilled to see it return for its 10th year, and I can’t wait to see what this year’s ‘History’ theme inspires.
“It always proved to be a massively popular event so I encourage families to get there free tickets as soon as possible.”
