Bowring Park is set to come alive with football fever this summer, hosting two free, family-friendly events to celebrate the England Lionesses’ UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 campaign.

‘Kick-off at Bowring’ will take place on Saturday 5th July and Sunday 13th July, with a packed schedule of activity running from 1pm to 5pm, leading up to live screenings of the England matches at 5pm inside the Coach House.

Bowring Park to host free family football events to coincide with UEFA Women’s Euro 2025

At the heart of each event are two free football sessions for girls and boys, delivered by Hey Football from 1–2pm and 3–4pm. These sessions aim to get young people active, engaged and inspired. Places are limited and booking in advance is highly recommended.

The events are designed to bring the local community together through inclusive, accessible experiences, celebrating grassroots football and local pride.

A standout moment of the weekend will be a special appearance by Everton Women’s goalkeeper Emily Ramsey, offering young players a unique chance to meet a professional footballer and role model.

Confirmed activities include:

  • Free football activity sessions (1–2pm and 3–4pm) delivered by Hey Football.
  • A retro football merchandise stall from Soccer Locker UK, offering classic kits and collectables.
  • A traditional sweet stall provided by Tuck Shop.
  • Face painting and glitter hair styling by local makeup artist Laura Flynn.
  • Inflatables and outdoor play equipment
  • Live screenings of the England matches inside the Coach House (limited seating available).
  • Local women’s football teams will be in attendance to raise awareness of their work and engage with the next generation of players.

Oisín Hennessy, Events Manager at Bowring Park said:

“We’re really proud to be hosting these activity days at Bowring Park to celebrate the Women’s Euros and shine a light on the importance of getting active in public spaces. It’s about creating a fun, welcoming space where families can enjoy free activities, connect with their community, and be inspired by the game. With football sessions, live entertainment, and some exciting special guests, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant couple of days.”

Further updates will be shared as additional partners and traders are confirmed. For more information or to book a free football session, head to the website.

These events form part of Bowring Park’s continued commitment to delivering inclusive, community-led experiences that promote health, wellbeing and local pride.
