Bowring Park is set to come alive with football fever this summer, hosting two free, family-friendly events to celebrate the England Lionesses’ UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 campaign.
‘Kick-off at Bowring’ will take place on Saturday 5th July and Sunday 13th July, with a packed schedule of activity running from 1pm to 5pm, leading up to live screenings of the England matches at 5pm inside the Coach House.

At the heart of each event are two free football sessions for girls and boys, delivered by Hey Football from 1–2pm and 3–4pm. These sessions aim to get young people active, engaged and inspired. Places are limited and booking in advance is highly recommended.
The events are designed to bring the local community together through inclusive, accessible experiences, celebrating grassroots football and local pride.
A standout moment of the weekend will be a special appearance by Everton Women’s goalkeeper Emily Ramsey, offering young players a unique chance to meet a professional footballer and role model.
Confirmed activities include:
- Free football activity sessions (1–2pm and 3–4pm) delivered by Hey Football.
- A retro football merchandise stall from Soccer Locker UK, offering classic kits and collectables.
- A traditional sweet stall provided by Tuck Shop.
- Face painting and glitter hair styling by local makeup artist Laura Flynn.
- Inflatables and outdoor play equipment
- Live screenings of the England matches inside the Coach House (limited seating available).
- Local women’s football teams will be in attendance to raise awareness of their work and engage with the next generation of players.
