The management team for this year’s LFC Foundation Legends charity match has been confirmed, with Jürgen Kloppset to return to the Anfield dugout alongside manager Sir Kenny Dalglish.
LFC Legends will take on Borussia Dortmund Legends on Saturday 28 March 2026, in a special fixture at Anfield. The match is presented by official training partner AXA and delivered in association with the club’s official former players’ association, Forever Reds.

Sir Kenny and Klopp will be joined on the sidelines by LFC official ambassador and all-time record goalscorer Ian Rush, along with Forever Reds Chair John Aldridge.
A long-time supporter of the club’s charitable arm, Klopp has consistently praised the impact of LFC Foundation, highlighting its “incredible work” both locally and globally. His involvement adds extra significance given his strong links to Borussia Dortmund, where he managed between 2008 and 2015.
The two clubs also share a deep cultural connection, with supporters on both sides famously singing You’ll Never Walk Alone before matches. They will reunite at Anfield a decade on from their dramatic Europa League quarter-final encounter in 2016.
As always, 100 per cent of the proceeds from the Legends fixture will go directly towards the work of LFC Foundation and Forever Reds. This year’s funds will support the Foundation’s employability programmes, helping people across the community to find work, gain qualifications and develop new skills through mentoring and training.
The match will also contribute to LFC Foundation’s long-term ambition to support 500,000 people per season by 2030, reinforcing football’s power to create lasting social impact both in Liverpool and beyond.
