Everton in the Community has opened registration for the 10th edition of its annual Stadium Sleepout, inviting Blues supporters to come together for a landmark night of fundraising and awareness at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Taking place on Friday 2 October, this special anniversary Sleepout celebrates a decade of Evertonians uniting to support the charity’s Home Is Where The Heart Is (HIWTHI) programme, which helps young adults across the Liverpool City Region who are at risk of homelessness.

Participants will bed down inside the stunning new waterfront stadium, taking in its superb sightlines and braving the winds off the River Mersey, while gaining a small insight into the daily challenges faced by people affected by homelessness.
Over the past 10 years, thousands of supporters have raised almost £500,000, helping HIWTHI deliver life-changing support through its four-bedroom residential home and tailored outreach services. During that time, the programme has prevented more than 150 young people from becoming homeless, supported 120 through outreach, and helped over 80 move into employment, education or training, with more than 70 progressing into their own accommodation.
Now firmly established as one of EitC’s flagship fundraising events, the Stadium Sleepout challenges participants to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship, with a £35 registration fee securing a place.
First launched in 2016, the inaugural Sleepout was backed by former Blues star David Unsworth and his Under-23s squad, sparking a season-long fundraising campaign that raised over £230,000 to secure a property that continues to provide a safe home for young adults rebuilding their lives.
HIWTHI offers far more than a roof over someone’s head. The programme delivers bespoke support covering housing and tenancy management, budgeting, mental health, relationships and advocacy, helping residents move towards independent living, education and employment. One former resident, Zahraa, was supported into full-time work, completed her college course and progressed to university, while continuing to receive guidance around her accommodation.
As the Stadium Sleepout reaches its 10th anniversary, Everton in the Community is calling on supporters old and new to be part of this historic edition — helping to ensure the HIWTHI programme can continue making a real and lasting difference for young people across the region.
Sarah Hunter, EitC’s Fundraising Manager, said:
“This year marks the 10th anniversary of our annual Sleepout, and we’re thrilled to invite supporters to be part of this milestone event at Hill Dickinson Stadium. It’s a special opportunity to come together as a community, experience a night that gives insight into the daily challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness and raise vital funds for young people in need through HIWTHI.
“Over the past decade our incredible supporters have helped hundreds of young people avoid homelessness and take steps towards independence. We can’t wait to welcome them, and many new faces, to what promises to be a memorable and inspiring evening on the banks of the Mersey.”
Please note, supporters must be 18 years of age or over on the event date to take part and can sign up here.
