There is an egg-citing afternoon in store for Evertonians attending this Saturday’s Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, with fans encouraged to arrive early and join in the Easter fun.
Everton Women host Liverpool Women with local pride at stake in a midday kick-off at the Grand Old Lady on Saturday, 28 March.
Ahead of the action, Everton have organised a host of family activities, including a timely visit from the Easter Bunny, who will be hopping between stadium concourses to hand out free chocolate eggs to young Blues.
The fixture comes at a competitive time in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Everton currently sit in 6th place in the table with 20 points from 18 matches, while Liverpool are in 10th place with 14 points.
Entertainment will be available across all concourses starting from 10.30 am, featuring live music, professional face painters, balloon twisters, and a dedicated Easter arts and crafts table.
Matchday giveaways will also include the latest baseball-style player cards and official Barclays Women’s Super League sticker books.
Peter Reid and the Huyton Boys Return to Goodison
Before the midday kick-off, a colourful display of flags and banners will take over the Gwladys Street Stand, thanks to the efforts of volunteers from the Everton Women Official Supporters’ Club.
The half-time interval promises even more nostalgia as, alongside the regular Hit The Bar game, Everton legend Peter Reid will make a special pitchside appearance.
Reid will be joined by his former Huyton Boys teammates for the first time in 55 years.
In April 1971, the Huyton Boys under-15s side made history at Goodison Park by securing a 5-1 aggregate victory in the English Schoolboys Final, becoming the first-ever non-city side to lift the trophy.
Former players are travelling from across the country to step once again onto the hallowed turf and reflect on their monumental achievement.
