Everton in the Community will take over Hill Dickinson Stadium this Saturday as the charity celebrates its annual Community Day ahead of Everton’s Premier League clash with Ipswich Town.
The official charity of Everton Football Club will have a huge presence around the stadium on Saturday, September 19, raising awareness of its work across the Liverpool City Region while generating vital funds to support more than 50 programmes.
Ahead of the 3pm kick-off, Everton in the Community staff and volunteers will be out in force with activities showcasing the charity’s award-winning services alongside a range of family-friendly challenges on the Fan Plaza.
Supporters can also enjoy an energetic performance from Liverpool samba band Katumba on the Fan Plaza and Everton Way before the musicians make their way inside the stadium.
Several Everton in the Community information hubs will be located around the Fan Plaza, giving fans the chance to find out more about the charity’s impact and the support available to people across the region.
Staff will be on hand to provide information about services including cancer support, free BEAT Breathlessness heart and lung screenings, mental health and wellbeing programmes, employability support and provision for veterans.
The charity’s fundraising team will also be promoting upcoming challenges and events including the Liverpool Santa Dash and Tough Mudder.
Fans will have the chance to win a signed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shirt by making a small donation to enter a prize draw.
Activities will begin from 12pm and include an inflatable goal shoot-out, darts and giveaways.
Everton in the Community volunteers will also form a guard of honour as the players enter the pitch.
At half-time, supporters will be introduced to participants from EitC’s community engagement programmes before two volunteers take on Everton’s popular Hit The Bar challenge.
Established in 1988, Everton in the Community is the charitable arm of Everton Football Club and uses the power of football to drive social change and tackle challenges facing communities across Merseyside.
For almost 40 years, the charity has delivered award-winning programmes supporting people in Liverpool 4 and across the wider Liverpool City Region.
