Dreaming of a Bundobust Christmas

Dreaming of a Bundobust Christmas

Despite 2020’s best efforts to ruin all the fun, Christmas at Bundobust Bold Street is still fully on!

Serving up Christmas Combos, Sprout Bhajis and Boozy House Chai (with Baileys, Bourbon, or Cognac… wobble home, anyone?) and Naughty/Nice cocktails (guess which one is booze free) from their first floor festive bolthole on Bold Street, the Bundo team aren’t willing to let this year go without a bang (and a bhaji).

This year’s new addition, the Mince Pie Paratha (flaky flatbread filled with dried spiced fruit, citrus and coconut) is perfect for mopping up a Crimbo curry, and it wouldn’t be Christmas at Bundo without a Sprout Bhaji Butty (sprout bhaji patty with red onion, kachumber sambharo, cranberry chutney & green chutney in a vegan brioche bun).

Dreaming of a Bundobust Christmas

Open from now until Christmas Eve (12-5pm), 27th-30th (12-9.30pm), and New Year’s Eve (12-7pm), the award-winning Indian Street Food & Craft Beer (a favourite of Guardian restaurant critic Jay Rayner) began life in Yorkshire as a pop-up collaboration between Mayur Patel (Prashad restaurant) and Marko Husak (bar owner and craft beer obsessive).

Following rave reviews and increased demand, the pair opened their first bricks and mortar site on Mill Hill in Leeds in 2014, followed by a much larger and more ambitious beer hall-style venue in Manchester two years later.

Having had eyes on Liverpool for a number of years, Patel and Husak finally found the perfect site on Bold Street, and opened the first floor site to much acclaim last year.

Marko said: “Let’s be honest, this year has been really crap for pretty much everyone, so all the more reason for us to spread some joy at Bundobust this Christmas.

“If you’ve never tried our Sprout Bhaji Butty before, you’re in for such a treat (people really love them, honest!), and we’ve spent many, many hours trying to nail the new Mince Pie Paratha, and we think we have  – but we’d love to hear what you think.”

Christmas Specials include…

Sprout Bhaji Butty (v) Sprout Bhaji patty with red onion, kachumber sambharo, cranberry chutney & green chutney in a vegan brioche bun for £6. (Also available individually)

Christmas Combo; Sprout Bhajis, Festive Curry with Jeera Rice, Mince Pie Paratha, Chole Saag & Paneer Tikka for two £25.75.
