As Christmas approaches, here is a summary of the upcoming events at Ma Boyle’s Alehouse and Eatery, Nova Scotia, and Tempest on Tithebarn in the final weeks of December.
There are numerous events taking place at these famous locations, in addition to the Christmas menu that can still be reserved.
Doggy Brunch at Nova Scotia
Saturday 9th December
For anyone two legged (or with four), this Saturday 9th December is Nova Scotia’s final Doggy Brunch of the year and a festive special. Each paying adult receives a breakfast brioche and warm or soft drink whilst the pooches are served a doggie breakfast and pupachino – all dogs eat and drink for free. £10 per ticket from 8.30am – 11am.
Jazz Saturdays at Ma Boyle’s Alehouse and Eatery
Saturdays 9th, 16th and 23rd December
Over at Ma Boyle’s Alehouse and Eatery, the final trio of Jazz Saturday sessions are coming up. First, the renowned saxophonist, clarinettist and arranger Frank Griffith performs on Saturday 9th December. Saturday 16th sees The Cuba Vida Salsa Band return for the season for the penultimate Jazz Saturdays show and theirexhilarating vocalists, keys, effects, saxophone and drums. Then for the final Jazz Saturdays session of 2023, the Perri Alleyne-Hughes Ensemble see out the year in the finest of festive styles with their delightful mix of jazz infused with Latin and blues. Jazz Saturdays is from 7pm each evening and always free but booking is advised: www.maboyles.co.uk It returns Saturday 20th January 2024.
Monday Quiz at Tempest on Tithebarn
Monday 11th December
On Monday 11th December, Tempest on Tithebarn host their final quiz of the year. Expect plenty of festive brain-teasers and tip-of-the-tongue answers at what has become a weekly institution. This is £2 per person to enter from 6pm.
Bottomless Brunch at Tempest On Tithebarn
Saturday 16th December
Then still at Tempest, there’s a Christmas Bottomless Brunch on Saturday 16th December. This is the last Bottomless Brunch of the year and the perfect place to indulge in plentiful festive drink and food. 90 mins bookings between 10am – 4pm and £35 per person. Look out for themed Bottomless Brunches in the New Year.
Christmas Feasting at all three locations
Ma Boyle’s and Nova Scotia’s 3-course Christmas menus are available to book. With three courses of fabulous festive feasting, there’s an array of classic dishes to choose from. Nova Scotia’s bookings finishes on Weds 20th and Ma Boyle’s on Saturday 23rd December.
And Tempest on Tithebarn’s Small Plates Big Christmas feasting features many new dishes and plenty of classics including Coconut Prawns, Salt and Pepper Chicken Bites and Mushroom Pate, with classics like Pigs In Blankets, Halloumi Winter Logs and Brussels Sprouts (with optional bacon) The menu is available now all the way to Wednesday 20th December 2023.
