Celebrate the festive season at Liverpool Philharmonic

Celebrate the festive season at Liverpool Philharmonic, with magical concerts and fabulous films.

Watching a film at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall is a special experience – the screenings are shown on an original 1930s cinema screen which rises out of the stage – and there will be a whole host of festive favourites coming this December.

We’ll be dreaming of a green Christmas with The Muppet Christmas Carol on Saturday 3 December, then we are showing the Judy Garland Christmas classic, Meet Me in St. Louis, on Sunday 18 December. On Christmas Eve, join us for a screening of the enduring classic It’s a Wonderful Life. We will present the timeless magic of E.T. The Extra Terrestrial on Friday 30 December, accompanied live on stage by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

There are plenty of other Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas treats in store for our audiences this year. We head to 1950s New York on Saturday 10 December for a Swingin’ Christmas – two concerts of Big Band seasonal favourites, starring phenomenal vocalists, Kerry Ellis and Matt Ford.

Then, Santa Claus himself is throwing a party at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall! Liverpool Philharmonic Children’s Choirs will join the Orchestra for Singalong with Santa, our magical family concerts on Saturday 17 December and Sunday 18 December.

Our much-loved annual Spirit of Christmas concerts, featuring the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir and Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Choir, will be presented by new host Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason. They’ll feature something for everyone – Christmas carols, audience singalongs, and Liverpool Philharmonic’s Artist in Residence, the sensational trumpeter Pacho Flores, will join the celebration!

New Year’s Eve promises to be a real hit, as we welcome 2023 in style with an evening of Motown Classics. Finally, beat the January blues by joining us for our annual performance of Handel’s rousing Messiah on Saturday 7 January.
