The Southport Air Show returns on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August, promising two thrilling days of seafront aerial displays, family fun, and unforgettable entertainment.
Drawing crowds from across Merseyside and beyond, the event is one of the UK’s most popular aviation spectacles. With the Irish Sea as a dramatic backdrop, the Southport shoreline will host an impressive line-up of high-flying stunts, historic aircraft, and awe-inspiring aerobatics.
This year’s programme features standout military displays from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, including the Lancaster, Hurricane, and Spitfire, as well as appearances from the Typhoon, Tutor, and the Falcons Parachute Display Team. Civilian highlights include Melanie Astles in the Extra 330, Richard Goodwin’s Jet Pitts, Team Raven, Rolls Royce Spitfire XIX, AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, The Starlings, Jet Provost, DH Vampire, L-39 Albatros, Navywings Swordfish, the Great War Display Team, the Strikemaster Pair and the Sea King.
Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment said:
“The Southport Air Show is one of the highlights of the year for aviation fans, families and visitors of all ages. I’d really encourage people to get their tickets now as demand is always sky-high.
“The Air Show draws crowds from across the UK and beyond, and it’s easy to see why, with breathtaking aerial displays and a vibrant atmosphere along our stunning coastline, it’s an unforgettable experience.
“There’s lots happening on the ground too, activities for children, interactive displays and plenty to keep everyone entertained. When the flying finishes, Southport’s town centre is just a short walk away, full of great places to eat, drink and relax.”
It’s not just about what’s happening in the sky, there’s plenty of action on the ground too. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits, enjoy family-friendly activities, and choose from a wide variety of food and drink throughout the weekend.
Tickets are available online, with general admission priced at £12 for those aged 16 and over. Entry is free for under 16s, and group discounts are available for parties of 10 or more.
