Excitement is building for Celebrating Bold Street, taking place on Sunday 17 August, as Liverpool BID Company reveals the first details of the much-anticipated event. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the successful Celebrating Castle Street, which marked the start of BID’s free summer events series.
Footfall data shows the impact of the event, with a 25% rise compared to the same period in 2024 (when no event took place) and a 7.8% increase from 2023.


Chloe Gaughan from Liverpool BID organises the summer events and says:
“The number of visitors shows that people really enjoy these special events no matter the weather. The increase in footfall year on year reflects the enthusiasm and the desire to enjoy the culture and hospitality on our city centre streets. We want to create something for everyone and the expanding programme shows that. We’d like to extend our thanks to the businesses who took part on Castle Street., and to those who are preparing for Bold Street”.
Now, Bold Street is set to shine with a packed programme of family-friendly activities and entertainment, including:
- Makers’ Market at Bombed Out Church – with special offers and local crafts
- Silent Disco Tours all day with Silent Adventures
- Tie-Dye Sock Workshops – free fun for the whole family
- Face Painting & Glitter Art
- Giant Chess
- Street Performers – including Zelva the giant tortoise at 11:40, 13:30 & 15:15, and stilt walkers at 11:00, 12:40 & 14:10
- Albert’s Schloss Brass Band roaming at 2:30, finishing with a street performance
- Live Music at Roscoe Place and One Under – featuring local artists and community groups
- Batala Mersey performance at 3:30
