Cafe Dantonio’s, based in Liverpool’s Metquarter, will give away a free coffee and Italian croissant to the first 50 customers between 10AM-12PM on Monday, 20 January, to help combat the Monday blues this January.
Dantonio’s will spread smiles across the city as friends, families, and coworkers can head to the Metquarter to pick up their treats as part of the Liverpool BID’s Yellow Monday campaign.
As part of the activity Metquarter will also work with the Liverpool Samaritans, who will be based in the centre on the morning of 20 January, to offer a listening ear to any visitors who fancy a chat or advice. There will also be an opportunity for customers to donate funds to the Liverpool Samaritans as part of the initiative, to pass on the kindness on the day.
Liverpool Samaritans service is delivered entirely by volunteers who are all ordinary people giving up their time to do something extraordinary with 130 volunteers who donate over 20,000 hours of their time to run the helpline and support over 250 of the most vulnerable people in Liverpool. Every year, the Samaritans turn the third Monday of the year into Brew Monday to encourage people to reach out to friends, family and loved ones and check in on them.
Visitors to the centre can pop into Dantonio’s to collect their free coffee and Italian croissant and either take it away or sit in for some time away from the everyday stresses of life and catch up with friends and family or speak to someone completely new.

with friends and family. It is great to be able to work with the Liverpool BID on its Yellow Monday initiative as well as the Liverpool Samaritans who perform such vital work across the city of Liverpool.”

“The third Monday in January is often termed Blue Monday, but every year at Samaritans we turn it into Brew Monday to encourage everyone to reach out to a friend, family member, or colleague for a cuppa and a chat. A simple conversation can provide someone with the support they need to feel heard, valued and less isolated.
“We’re really looking forward to our visit to Metquarter. Our friendly volunteers will be giving out free fresh tea bags and offering a listening ear to anyone who wants to share what’s going on with them, or if they simply just fancy a little chat while taking a break from their shopping.”
Visitors can head down to Dantonio’s based on the ground floor of Metquarter on the 20 January between 10AM-12PM to collect their free coffee and Italian croissant for the first fifty customers during this time period and support a brilliant cause within the city.
