Bowring Park has been recognised for its pioneering work in sustainability and social impact, winning the Green Future Award at this year’s Community Business Awards.
The award celebrates organisations making tangible progress in environmental responsibility while improving the lives of people in their local area – and Bowring Park stood out for its holistic approach to community-led green transformation in Merseyside.

Since oneday took over, Bowring Park has become a vibrant hub for climate-conscious activity, from composting schemes and wildflower habitats to forest school sessions, inclusive volunteering, and seasonal growing initiatives through the GROW programme.
Beyond the environmental impact, the park has created opportunities for young people, improved local wellbeing, and brought the community together through shared action and green space.
Helen Paton, Head of Funding and Corporate Partnerships at oneday said:
“This award is a huge recognition of the belief we’ve always had – that climate action, sustainability and community action go hand in hand.”
“Whether it’s through kids planting veg for the first time, a local resident finding connection through volunteering, or just someone falling back in love with nature, everything we do is rooted in the idea that a greener future must be an inclusive one too.”
The Bowring Park team plans to build on this momentum by expanding its growing programme, hosting sustainability-focused community events across the summer, and continuing to explore how green spaces can serve local people all year round.
