The beloved food and drink spot Duke Street Food and Drink Market, tucked away in the centre of the City Centre, is happy to announce that Barnacle has become a permanent fixture.
Since the culinary journey began in December 2021, Barnacle has been absorbing all the mouthwatering flavours of Liverpool’s culinary scene. Since the beginning, their goal has been to convey the essence of this city and its maritime heritage while incorporating ideas from all sources of inspiration.
Barnacle is becoming The Barnacle Kitchen at Duke Street Market as of January 11th! The group is growing to cater to the whole market while adhering to its beloved history by serving classic gastro-inspired dishes.
Imagine Sunday roasts, Barnacle’s buttered chicken curry, Liverpool Cheese Co. rarebit, and brunch treats that all go so well with the wonderful vendors that surround them.
It goes well with Duke Street’s goal to serve healthy, fresh food made with ingredients from small, independent suppliers in the area who add character to their menus.
General Manager, Lee Bannon-Smith expressed his anticipation, saying:
“Responding to enthusiastic demand, Barnacle gracefully evolves into our 7th kitchen, seamlessly blending into the vibrant market dynamic. This exciting expansion not only amplifies our capacity but also offers an array of diverse options to elevate the culinary experience at Duke Street Food and Drink Market. A testament to our commitment to meeting the growing appetite for exceptional food offerings and helping to create those memorable moments.”
Barnacle’s co-founder Paul Askew says:
“For over two years, we’ve proudly shared the tale of Liverpool’ sculinary journey, teaming up with incredible local suppliers from all corners of the city region at Barnacle.
Now, we’re unleashing this energy and creativity into the launch of The Barnacle Kitchen.”
