Community groups across the Liverpool City Region are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to £1,000 to help tackle inequality, hardship and the cost-of-living crisis.
The LEX Foundation has opened applications for the latest round of its community grants programme, with a total of around £14,000 available to support grassroots projects making a difference in their local communities.
Formerly known as the ACC Liverpool Group Foundation, the LEX Foundation has been established through donations raised by Liverpool Experience Campus employees.
The fund is administered by the Community Foundation for Merseyside and supports local community groups and voluntary organisations across the region.
Applications are particularly welcomed from projects supporting LGBTQ+ communities, minority and underrepresented groups, refugees and asylum seekers, grassroots music initiatives and organisations tackling food poverty and the cost-of-living crisis.
Groups based in Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral are eligible to apply, with grants of up to £1,000 available for small-scale projects capable of delivering a meaningful impact in their communities.
Last year, the fund supported more than 14 projects across the Liverpool City Region, helping organisations respond to a wide range of local needs.
Funding supported grassroots music programmes and youth mentoring, debt relief and budgeting support, food banks and emergency food provision, skills and wellbeing workshops, projects tackling social isolation and support for disadvantaged families, refugees, asylum seekers and people with disabilities.

Applications can be submitted online through the Community Foundation for Merseyside.
The deadline for applications is Friday 25 September 2026.
Applications will be assessed by the Community Foundation for Merseyside, with final decisions made by a panel of Liverpool Experience Campus staff.
Applications are expected to be reviewed in mid-November, with successful organisations notified later that month.
