Registration is now open for Walk for Autism 2026 as Liverpool charity Autism Initiatives prepares to launch its ninth annual fundraising challenge.
The popular campaign will run from 26 March to 2 April, finishing on World Autism Acceptance Day.
Supporters of all ages and abilities are invited to take on 10,000 steps a day for eight days, walking wherever and whenever suits them.
Walk for Autism 2026 launches across Liverpool and the UK
Liverpool-based Autism Initiatives delivers projects and services across Merseyside, wider England, the Isle of Man, Northern Ireland and Wales.
In 2026, the charity is expanding its services across Liverpool to provide more accessible support for autistic people and their families.

“Our aim is create a wonderful community of like-minded people who are passionate about creating a world where autistic people thrive.

Fundraising boost supports autism services and specialist staff

In 2025, the challenge raised an impressive £586,000 thanks to participants and supporters across the UK.
Previous fundraising has helped the charity recruit specialist wellbeing staff, expand accessible services and create work experience opportunities through its social enterprises.
Participants who raise at least £20 will receive an official Walk for Autism T-shirt for their hard work and commitment to the cause.
Additional fundraising milestones unlock rewards including medals, wristbands and the coveted Fundraising Legend title.
Founded more than 50 years ago by Pat Minshull, who was determined to secure better support for her autistic son, Autism Initiatives Group continues to build on her legacy.
Today, the charity works in partnership with autistic people and their families to create opportunities, promote inclusion and help individuals thrive.
